  1. In Harsin's defense, and I'm sure this was part of the convo the other day...."Tank I fired that dumbass SOB, I swear it won't happen next year".
  2. Nix is as talented as they get. So it's hard to say he was pre-ordained. I do know that no other QB in the room felt they had a chance to win the job, none. Nix didn't have the work ethic, outside of typical football stuff, that the others had, and he was always thought of as untouchable. Not laying blame at the Nix's, it wasn't their doing. Just something that didn't sit well with the team as a whole. Even this year, Nix isolated himself until Harsin benched him against Ga St. I truly believe if Harsin had Bo all three years, Nix would've been a much better QB, more importantly, a teammate. He was always the coaches kid, which isn't always great with development. Hear the same with respect to Vandergriff, fwiw.
  3. Lol. yes I checked while watching folks being separated.
  4. Willis is to be given a lot of credit. Once Auburn signed him to play QB, the dude worked tirelessly to improve his skills. If he'd been given a glimmer of hope that he could earn the QB spot, he would've stayed. There was no hope for anyone not named Nix once Bo got to campus. I'm happy for Malik, never expected to see his name mentioned in the top rounds of the NfL draft, goes to show you what hard work, perseverance and a dream will get you.
  5. Yes it will be a freakin' circus. We go to the one near Calhoun. We stopped in one Saturday after my son's football game. There were folks having to be separated in the parking lot, fighting over a parking space. There's like 1000 but it was nut-cutting trying to get one. Like Black Friday crap. The only times we go are late at night or early morning, traveling to and from the mountains. I'd love to have stock in the place.
  6. We live about halfway between Cartersville and Canton, just off on 20. The north side of Allatoona Lake. Sorry to hear about the diabetes. I'm not there diabetic but sweets really cause me to crash. Pre-diabetic I guess. The only time I get the custard is when my boys and I are heading home and I have nothing to do. Impossible to do anything after eating Culver's. haha
  7. I try telling my Aggie friend that. Soft as butter
  8. I'll drive out of the way to use Buccee's bathroom's. Unreal the cleanliness of that place.
  9. Good to meet you, neighbor. My death row last meal would be all the crab legs I could eat and Culver's custard. My goodness it is amazing!
  10. Haha you must live along the 1-75 corridor in NW Georgia. We just got multiple culver's and a Buccee's. That place is a nightmare. Good stuff but folks are driving from all over the place just to visit.
  11. To be fair, Nix has had a 'do not contact" designation his whole life. Just ask the o-line. I keed, I keed....
  12. All very good points, and I back and forth on the deal. Heck, yesterday, I argued for and against the portal in the same thread. So, today I am just going to be Sweden about it. 😆 .
  13. Well, I know this will be tough on you but Bo is either a compulsive liar embellishing his struggles or he is keeping secrets you. Dude Bo said this very thing in the ESPN doc. Hell I’ve heard him talk about packing up and leaving at night because he was tired of Casey and Crowe riding his ass all the time. I’m sorry you had to find out this way.
  14. @Zeek thanks so much man for all this you do on here. Has to take up a lot of your time, it is appreciated!
  15. I'll give it to him, Gus did more with less coaching ability than any coach in history. His genius was implementing a fast-break offense in a world of play-clock milkers. He kissed the right asses and was hired to be on Nutt's staff. Still amazing to think. As far as Gus learning, folks tried to teach him, folks tried to scheme with him in the offseason, the dude is arrogant and probably a little self-conscious. Can't grow if you aren't willing to learn.
  16. Whether Harsin is the leading play-caller, on Saturday's, the swiftness with which he fired Bobo signals to me he isn't going to baby-sit or endure more lost games due to crappy decisions from the booth. He will be more involved regardless. I think a young bright guy, who isn't an established, seasoned coach, is exactly what we need. Some one to collaborate with, that isn't so established you just turn loose. Harsin was pretty pissed after a number of the losses in which 3-4 boneheaded calls costs Auburn a win. Dude ain't letting another season burn with inexcusable mistakes.
  17. The only thing is, it is too easy the way it is now. No way to quantify this, but just for reference, two of the statues at Auburn wouldn't be there if the portal was like this back then. Kids get beat out, fine just transfer, coach being a meany, transfer, gotta run stadiums, transfer. That is my only concern with Harsin, he is tough and demanding. We aren't at that level where kids come to get to the NFL, so many will make an emotional decision, that if the portal wasn't so wide open, would have to suck it up. Barkley and Bo would've been gone before the coaches could talk them out of it. Just like them, often times it helps a person for life, to work hard, and overcome instead of running. Time will tell I guess
  18. I despise the portal. Teams like bama, uthuga, osu, teams already loaded won't be affected, especially, bama who turns over 10 guys a year they don't need. For those of us fighting for scraps, one or two guys and the whole dynamic on that side of the ball changes, and you really can't be sure what you have for the season until after May 1st. I'm happy the kids can get money they earned and not see it go to the NCAA, but this portal is just too loose right now. Of course, the portal is our hope for a better year so I guess, I just argued both sides of the issue. I don't know whether to hate it or love it. crap
  19. Huge get for Auburn. Kid will challenge for starting spot day 1
  20. Well we got one helluva a commit today so that is helping
  21. Damn it man. Why did I decided to look at Auburn football news today. I completely missed this. Me at Thanksgiving: well at least the defense is solid, wait til Mason gets his guys. Me at Christmas: #@$%@%&$^E^%$&#$%^&^I%%&^&%^&* me!
  22. I mis-interpreted. I was sure "Our starting QB isn't currently on our team" meant, definitively, not currently on roster. Like excluding TJ since he is on the roster, but I'll have to check the portal, it only refreshes every 15
  23. I guess the Nix's were a little upset Harsin didn't try real hard to keep him from leaving. Harsin be like, thanks for your time, we'd like to have you back where you will once again have the chance to earn the starting spot. Doubt Pat liked that.
  24. I didn't really think I needed add a disclaimer of, unless we get a better transfer. We were talking about guys on campus or soon will be.
  25. Right, he has connects most players don't, giving them the luxury to be selective when he declared. I respect the kids decision and wish him well, but this is the type of crap that had guys celebrating with Finley in the end zone after they scored, when Nix was the QB on the field.
