  1. You weren't kidding Devil. I haven't read anything Auburn football since Bobo was fired. Got on here to see any news of last minute recruits. Holy cow, lots to take in.
  2. Agreed! Passive-aggressive crap. I like Harsin today.
  3. I hope you are right. Each has more upside imo
  4. You are too kind, you should've just called me a dumbass, which I deserved. I was turned off by the expansion talk, I haven't read anything about possible alignments until now. Good grief, I'm getting nostalgic about not playing Florida and Tennessee, and we will be in the east with them. I appreciate you taking it easy on me but I deserved a dumbass, at least a facepalm, for that dumb mess I typed.
  5. Yes sir. We will scheme for your strengths, no forward passes. 😁
  6. You taking about Sawyer Pate or Grant Loy? The Pate kid has been really good all year from what I understand. I just don't think Harsin will do anything to piss Finely off unless he has QB's lined up to transfer in. These are all thing that coaches have to worry about, I'd hate to be a director of personnel. Those guys will be going insane. Except the ones at bama where the've had a heck of a transfer system since Saban got there.
  7. Bham bowl qb? Yes, tryouts are at 8 tomorrow, for anyone that has eligibility, and an intact rotator cuff left, come earn your spot on the depth chart. 😁
  8. @Win4AU I thought maybe you were going to bring attention, as I have in my locus of control, the fact we played 8 straight SEC games to end the season, save for a week off. I remember looking at the yearly rotation of East opponents since the expansion, Auburn, of course, played the hardest rotational schedule, bama, well you can guess where they were ranked. That took a toll on our guys late, many were banged up and could've used a cupcake sprinkled in November. Sorry to hijack, I get your point completely, but the SEC officiating and scheduling, by bammers , just burns my ass. I am cool with change, it's inevitable, but I don't like the direction SEC/NCAA football is going. I would much rather be playing Tennessee or Florida every few years, than going to Norman or Austin. Just doesn't feel right.
  9. Yeah strong o-line and phenomenal talent at QB and skill positions. 2017 is more on KJ on the offense, and our defense than anyone else. Many things about Gus I don't understand, but his QB recruiting just doesn't compute. Gus took the low hanging fruit, meaning kids he didn't have to fight real hard to get their commitment. At least Harsin stated his preference, and has been recruiting that type QB. I don't really agree, but that what he wants. I'd love to see Davis get the start in the bowl game, but I don't think he will see the field. Maybe he isn't good enough, but Harsin's comments this summer about tall, accurate passers, has me concerned for Davis' future with Auburn. Gus took the low hanging fruit, meaning kids he didn't have to fight real hard to get their commitment.
  10. Have to give him credit, he rarely goes all in, just 70-80% chance, then changes to 0 or 100 after talking to JHok. I will give JBoy credit, he called the Coach Corn deal accurately, didn't handle his emotions well, but he knew it would hurt us. Fire a guy after 4 games, when most of his assistants needed to be demoted.
  11. Not sure what the head coaching carousel has to do with what I've been saying but okay. I never stated I wanted Harsin to get fired or for Auburn to be hiring a new coach this year. All I've been saying, for a month now the few times I logged in, is that things aren't going real well on the Plains. I don't know what the answer is other than to hope Harsin realizes that a number of the Boise coaches need to find off the field spots, and he hires some recruiters that know the area, starting with Trovon Reed. Dude needs to be named as either the WR or special teams coach for next year. Oh, the Coach Corn thing hasn't helped us at all this year either. I stood behind Harsin and said it was his prerogative, but was worried the handling would cause issues. It has.
  12. I will give you that, and I have been very hard on Bobo, and Harsin, this year. The bama game is unforgivable. Run the damn ball three plays and bama doesn't have time to score 10 points. But there is no denying the talent level was very poor on the line. Some guys would've been better at their natural position, which makes their play seem not so bad considering, but then that points back to one person, Gustav. I'm sure it has been discussed, but o-line recruiting was Gus' deal for a while. He, inexplicably, took full control of recruiting that position. Gus got lazy, so that meant Auburn just didn't give out as many offers. It's actually despicable.
  13. I'm curious, did you go back and look at a 10 year average, numbers and quality? I'm telling you this, Gus did very little to establish his name and likeness here in Georgia. Richt got away with it a little, since he could always pull the life-long UGA kids, when he wanted. We don't have that luxury. The guys we got from Georgia were thanks in large part to Garner, Twill, Burns and a few other assistants. We lost out on a lot of kids because they continued to hear from Auburn assistants but not THE head coach. This is directly related to Gus and his lack of give a damn for quite a while.
  14. Just imagine sitting here today, without the hope of the transfer portal. The Gus apologists will say that Gus foretold of the transfer portal in 2015, the time when he developed selective memory loss and forgot that O-line recruiting is vital. There is blame on Harsin's part but just imagine the difference in record this year if we had an average SEC level o-line. Things would be looking much better. I feel for those that still try to defend Gus, -splain his philosophy and how he ran a clean program, good kids, yada yada yada. Harsin is a good man and one that makes sure the guys are doing right and we are clean, I believe he is coaching just a decade or two too late. Hell, look at Saban the past few years. He is a teddy bear compared to a time not so long ago. That isn't by chance and it isn't old age. I just hate we got a real damn football coach and the timing couldn't have been worse. Damn 2017 UGA and bama games, and that criminal president that tried to find a few friends in locking Gus up with that dumbass contract. Harsin takes over 2-3 years ago, we aren't sweating any of this right now. It is what it is, though
  15. I'm all for a build that is solid, but things have changed drastically the past year. Hell, I was the one licking Harsin's boots when he was hired. My kind of guy. I don't want Harsin fired, and know he won't be for a few years, but you have to be able to look at the landscape and understand change is inevitable and you better plan for it or you get crapped on. Which is where we are at. I am hoping, to the point of praying, that early signing day brings about some welcome surprises.
  16. Well, I'll go with a tie for best player. ZMac is the man, but I am partial. 😁
  17. Appreciate Roger for coming back, he could've left and made money in the NFL last year. Had a slow start, but he was taken out of his comfort zone, which Mason at least realized towards the end of the season. Well deserved, indeed. I'm not going to look, but I guess my twin, Zakoby, was left out again of the awards again? Freaking ridiculous, nothing last year, and 2nd or 3rd team SEC this. stupidity
  18. And on the recruiting front, as anyone taken a gander at the top 100 Georgia prospects for the year? Look at that list and see where we are if rankings were just based on Georgia talent. We are getting killed in the state of Georgia, and it ain't just by UGA and bama. Gus and his recruitment, or lack thereof, of Georgia, opened the door for many other P5 teams to take kids we would normally get. Georgia, Alabama and Florida should've been our main focus in recruiting, and it hasn't. At least in my neck of the woods.
  19. Well that sure makes me feel better. I'll add to the previous post I made. Harsin inherited a nightmare in regards to the lack of talent along the lines. Momma Bigsby knows football, and she can see it ain't looking good on the offensive side of the ball. 5 Seniors, 5th years, I believe, and no one on the current roster could beat them out? The fact that many linemen were 5th year Seniors points to the talent issue. SEC West level Olinemen, who start multiple years, should have been chasing the NFL dream by their 5th year, besides the obvious multiple injuries guys. I don't know if I would want my kid running behind that line with the NFL looming
  20. I like Harsin but it’s apparent, and has been for a while this is not a good fit. The all work and little play, the old school hardass ways just aren’t going to cut it with elite athletes. They have way more power than ever before. Tank is going pro next year, why spend a whole year working as hard as Harsin demands when you can transfer and not have to worry. Harsin is a man of his word, even the players like Tank better be at class on-time, work extra hard all summer, the things we all love about a program, just isn’t the MO of a coach imo. I am all for waiting it out until Harsin gets his type of players, but with NIL and transfers being so readily available, 4&5 star kids don’t want to hear blue-collar talk. They are elite, and now are in a position to demand pampering. I like Harsin and would love for him to coach my kids, but I’m afraid the end result will be a mess 2-3 years from now. My two cents. Saying that, I won’t believe Tank is leaving until he officially enters portal. Maybe he has I only read the first page of posts.
  21. Thank goodness. If he had fired him last week, we win Saturday. Of course this could mean that Harsin is about to make Auburn more good ol' boy than Gus. Which isn't going to help recruiting.
  22. Harsin greatly underestimated the "bumps" in the road. More like foothills. Going to be rough for a while.
