  1. Personally, i’m way more concerned getting my ribs to finish while enjoying a new rum and cola formulation. Rain perturbed the smoke. The armadillo eggs came out perfectly. Apparently they had no halftime entertainment as an usher is just roaming around caterwauling. Roamed through early and saw a commercial I really liked. I think the strategy in advertising and broadcasting this year is just trying to not offend the 1000 factions who will take offense at any article of grammar. Bleah.
  2. Very ‘meh’ so far all the way aroung, based on hardly ever taking a look-see.
  3. Even Bama radio broadcast says it's just been a freethrow contest, embarrassing to national audience, due to the officiating. Havys aing to listen to bama network since AU's SUCKS/won't stream as usual.
  4. It's evil bama's plan: spy a michigan coach. When he fails in the NFL after a year, they'll know he is worthy - sort of a similar scenario.
  5. "And he’ll continue to be here and be part of our program and we’re very happy for that. And I’ll tell you, I’ll give coach DeBoer a ton of credit, he’s embraced that, as he should," Byrne said. As he should. Because we require it, contactually, since we otherwise have no confidence in Kaitlyn DeBoer. Coach Saban has Coach Kaitlyn washing his car and doing his laundry and seeking coach's favorite candy, the legendary Chick O Stick. All this greatly assists Coach Kaitlyn in his acclimation. So this relationship is going really well as far as you know. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that we have our legal school preparing frivolous lawsuits agains players who are entering the portal until they withdraw their names. Roll Tide. Oh, and please visit our NIL bake sale this afternoon.
  6. This is the year. Derrick Nix will improve this new offense so much. He's focused. He'll have fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for coordinator of the year.
  7. Thanks for the news. He's decent, but that's gotta underwhelm the turds. I like it from the competition standpoint. He's not an Aranda or Muschamp or Steele. Offensive player learned to coach DBs under his dad at (the Hugh Free'ze led) Ole Miss, then helped Eastern Illinois's defense get them into the top 25. I guess they'll talk themselves off the ledge by repeating, "Nick will do the heavy lifting?" Riiiiight
  8. As the good book says, "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both Nick and Kalen."
  9. Eventually it'll be "Leave Alabama NOW Kalen!"
  10. It's just taking a bit longer because Norvell must have his name legally changed before he can have the job. They will not have another "Mike." Standby for Eduardo Norvell being hired.
  11. I heard CHF in some interview saying it was incredibly difficult to recruit the high school prospects while re-recruiting players on the team. Said he wished the portal was only open for 7 days. Okay, duh. All coaches are dealing with that. But he sounded really fatigued and threw in other expressions akin to 'trying to figure it out' and hoping some guys on our team self-organize a beneficial culture. The last part was the first time I went, "Oh," like 'building the ethic and unity is still a TBD.' Yeah we don't know exactly when we'll turn the corner yet. That was before the bowl game.
  12. An excellent hypothesis and analysis.
  13. I know it wasn't the point of the OP, but I will be happy when our wins don't require the 'prayer at Jordan Hare' and a 'kick six', orange jerseys or white face masks. And when the losses are not marquee features of blooper reels. When it's just plain football again without hot and cold running gimmicks and gaffes. I suspect that's when the brand notoriety, respect, and true 'alignment' will take off. Hoping it's coming within reach.
  14. It seems to be our lot as Auburn. If football defense is decent, offense can't maneuver itself out of the bathroom. If offense is great, they can barely score enough to offset the points the defense gives up. If football is good, basketball is 'down.' If basketball is a F4 contender, football is beyond a joke. If recruiting is good (rank and quality at needed positions), the on field execution is worse than Vandy. We're even steven.
  15. I was channeling cbo, wrapping criticism in lilac-perfumed k-street letterhead.
  16. I assumed he was intently listening to a Peter Lynch investment audio book the second half, since he didn’t have anything to say to the QBs. Sorry. Not really. But it’s funny, cynically. He was probably listening to the Hurry Up No Huddle audio book.
  17. I wouldn’t say you’re wrong. It’s all plausible and likely as not. I drank that “culture” kool aid trying to get on board with Harsin as his apologists irrigated us with it. Thought he had at least a blue collar ‘work harder’ culture there (even if the stars were eclipsed). Now I’ll be happy not to hear culture as one of the variables in the equation again. I would agree that communications from the football department, AD, and Freeze specifically could be curated better (or pared back) to mitigate the cognitive dissonance. I muse at the excuses (problem was bigger, had to solely recruit) that further diminish his stature as a big time coach, guru, savior. Obviously the coaching talent and tactical management is spread too thin. It’s okay. Few know the exact issues and none know when/how it will resolve despite the cheerleaders and protectors (of whom you are not). He said this was the hardest year in his career on the pregame.
  18. Barring info to the contrary, I think yours is a valid and heathily-optimistic inference. I wish I had more info to buy in more than I have. The puzzlers and head scratchers make me much less confident that a well-constructed plan just needs to run its course. No I would not suggest yet another reset by any means. Mere atability will yield some improvement (not to mention fiscal efficiency). I just can’t reconcile what ‘seems to me’ to be a ‘write-off’ season. I guess this IS just business now. What’s to say, because of circumstances or more ‘difficulties’ that next season isn’t a write-off. Or the next. Come play for Auburn where you may be invested (and compromised professionally) in one of our write-off seasons. “Our bad. Sorry.” I don’t know because I’m just a spectator. And it doesn’t affect me emotionally (anymore) because I’m just a spectator. But I find it Auburn-bizarre
  19. i'm not a target, but I may stay away from even looking at the nest passive aggression til, well, maybe ever. Really screwball. Anyway, ... Happy Birthday!!! Hope you have something more celebratory than the Music city Transformer bowl loss.
  20. It was an AUful performance. But, there were a few good reasons for Auburn to be "off" (at least below its overachieving level. Several players missed most of bowl practice due to flu (Thorne among them). A few players were saving themselves for their run at the draft. I'm not apoplectic at the performance. However, there are valid reasons for fans to be frustrated. Chief among them is that Auburn has begun setting records - for other teams. Allowing other teams their most points in a half. Being the first SEC team to concede losses. Bowls for us now are veritable automatic losses. Not much different from the season for the last decade, but Auburn can be credited by taking more announcers and fans by surprise with new and creative ways to look awful and amateurish, while only getting to meaningful post-season via "miracles" or "prayers" instead of skill and dominance. In the defeatist fashion: "It is what it is." Someone said, 'all we ever have is hope.' That's about it.
  21. Worms and sponges... are we still talking coordinators?
  22. Hey, hey, hey! Sea cucumbers don't deserve that. They're much better game day coaches and playcallers, but would never consider taking the Auburn job. I know you were just caught up in the moment.
