  1. Gonna be very dark and gloomy for Alabama fans at the end of the game when we have a couple more points than they do.
  2. If he could actually do that, then he wouldn't be the coach we think we're getting.
  3. Yeah, if I had to guess, I'd guess Caddy will be our HC somewhere in about 2027,,,after he has put in his due to be a HC. Not before.
  4. Yeah, I love the (supposed) Kiffin hire and all, but I'm sure thankful to and for Caddy, who went a long way toward making this a fun season for us when all was lost and boring. Thanks to Caddy, who may very well be our HC someday. Someday.
  5. A bowl game would be a good chance for Kiffin to see what he has to keep, and what he needs to throw away. Hint: there is much more that needs to throw away than kept. So a bowl game invite would be welcome.
  6. Help. My whole family are Alabama fans. My dad, mom, siblings, aunts and uncles and cousins and nieces and nephews and even my pastor. I raised my son right: he's an AU grad, but is a professor at Tennessee and was wearing a pumpkin orange hat a few days ago. I need some identity right now...
  7. Lane Kiffin will coach all practices after we get our asses kicked in the Iron Bowl. To everyone: Take off your Caddy jersey, wash it, encase it in a glass frame, and hang it above your wall-mounted TV. That is, if he gets retained by Kiffin...which is not a sure thing nor should it be.
  8. Much more so in baseball than in football...
  9. What has happened to the interest in Deion as our next HC? Did Auburn ever even seriously consider him? He should have garnered at least as much consideration as Lane Kiffin, whom I like as a HC possibility. I'm not completely sold on Deion, but I am surprised that he wasn't seriously considered, if he wasn't. I'm certainly not privy to the AU coaching search details (gee, they didn't ask my opinion for some reason; I'm shocked). But it doesn't feel like they took Deion seriously. I'm surprised.
  10. No 5-win team should expect (nor should be granted) a bonus (meaningless bowl) game.
  11. Do y'all really think we deserve a bowl game? I guess if we luck up and beat Bama... Otherwise, no 5-win team should feel accomplished enough to play a bonus game.
  12. Love Caddy. But we are not beating Bama in their house even in a "down" year for them. Cam Newton is not in our backfield. And we do not have a serviceable replacement for him. We are "QB poor". In an era that demands good QBs. If we had a decent QB that could throw and mix the running and passing plays, we might have a chance. But Bama has the DL and LBs to shut down the run game and force us to throw, which we can't. Our starting QB couldn't start at most FCS schools. That's just a hard but true fact. But we have a week to dream...
  13. Yep. They are not intimidated and would probably have the lead had they chosen to kick a field goal instead of going for it on 4th down in the 1st quarter.
  14. He's a really small guy, and probably couldn't tackle my grandmother. But my grandmother is pretty tough. But seriously, I wonder if his small stature plays into the fact that he does not kick off the ball.
  15. My biggest fear: - Dabo gives a verbal commitment to AU to be our next HC. -AU believes that and quits the coaching search, driving away Kiffin and Freeze. - Clemson wins the natty, giving Dabo his 3rd at Clemson. - Dabo decides in late February to stay at Clemson, and we lose out on Kiffin and Freeze. We wind up with Rhett Lashlee or some other stiff. In other words, JABA. Please, talk me off the ledge.
  16. Auburn has probably talked to "Casper the Ghost" by now, just to say they've explored every opportunity. But I imagine they've (we've) had a couple coaches in their sights. Kiffin and Freeze. I'm glad to hear that they may be considering Dabo as well. Dabo beats Kiffin, Freeze, and Sanders by a large margin.
  17. No, this isn't true. Not by a long shot. But I sure hope it is and Dabo is our next HC. He brings much to the table with none of the baggage or inexperience that the other coaches do. Dabo, Dabo, Dabo. Go Dabo.
  18. I never see Deion's name mentioned in the mainstream media's articles anymore, in relation to the AU HC job. Is he still a viable candidate for AU HC?
  19. Gus ran a new high school offense that fooled opposing teams for a couple years. After that, defenses adapted and rendered his offense pedestrian. Yet he made no adjustments. Minus Cam Newton and Nick Marshall, Gus' offenses were nothing to be admired. I wonder what Jeremy Johnson could have achieved under Lane Kiffin or Hugh Freeze. Maybe as much as Malik Willis did.
  20. Is Deion Sanders not being considered any more? I don't think I ever see his name in the "Auburn Coaching" new stories any more.
  21. The new coach needs autonomy to hire and fire at will, Caddy notwithstanding. But I sure hope the new coach opts to offer Caddy a RB coaching job, which is his current ceiling based upon his experience. In the end, I don't care whose feelings we hurt with the new coaching hire and scheme. I'm just tired of losing when we should be winning. I have no heroes to root for in this decision. I just want what's best for AU and winning. We've lost enough lately.
  22. I agree, but I ain't nowhere near in the discussion for this hire...:)
