  1. You are right. We have the best available job in the NCAA. Yet we have seemingly lost out on our top target (Kiffin), and had no backup plan. Apparently, but looks can be deceiving. If we lose out on Kiffin and Prime, it's just JABA all over again. My goodness, we have had the most attractive HC job available since Michael Myers and Halloween. Yet we can't get a really good coach top come here. I am depressed.
  2. My goodness, neither do I. I still can't figure out why Kiffin turned us down, if he did. It makes no sense for him to sign an extension at Ole' Miss when he has no chance of winning an SEC West title there, much less a natty. He FREAKING signed an extension there. He is built from within his soul as a coach who would thrive in the drama of AU vs. UA. I guess he eventually wants to be on the UA side...
  3. If we are considering a head coach with no head coaching experience (i.e. Brian Johnson), I think we should hire Prime instead. He would immediately bring us a wealth of good players in recruiting. And if he doesn't pan out, he would leave our roster loaded for the next head coach (Caddy?).
  4. Seems like if it was gonna be Freeze, it would have been announced by now. Unless Cohen had all his eggs in the Kiffin basket and was caught blindsided when he turned us down. If so, it may be days before we hear anything.
  5. If we truly got stood up at the altar by Lane Kiffin, this thing could go on for days.
  6. Jim Fyffe, Rod, and now Stan. Ugh. I've really enjoyed listening to Stan's color commentary. His reaction to the Kick 6 was something I'll never forget.
  7. I think Freeze wants another chance so badly that he would stay out of trouble. I don't think he would take this chance lightly at all. I think he would come here, do well, and stay for the long haul.
  8. I think Nick Saban badly wanted to hire Freeze to be the next Kiffin-like OC at UA, but the SEC wouldn't let him.
  9. Freeze is my 1st choice. I'd be fine with giving him a chance to prove himself again.
  10. If Caddy is hired, I think it would be definitely because we missed out on everybody else. No way John Cohen quit a good job at Miss St to come here and hire a coach as inexperienced as Caddy. But if we lose out on everybody else... I can't imagine Caddy being hired ahead of Deion.
  11. I'm fine with Kiffin, Freeze, or Deion. I just hope we didn't somehow miss out on all three.
  12. Not chickens, but I will inject the turkey breast lobes with a mixture of butter and spices (sage, thyme). The dark meat doesn't need it. It has plenty of fat and flavor on its own.
  13. Just like fall, Halloween, Christmas, July 4th, and college football, THANKSGIVING GOES BY WAY TOO FAST. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I sure do miss my grandparents and the great times we had during holidays at their house, when I was too young and stupid to realize how special it was.
  14. I'm gonna smoke mine this year in my Pit Barrel Cooker. A 12-lb bird, cut in half and hanging vertically. It works very well for chickens, hope it works as well for a small turkey.
  15. Not very long. I've rolled many before. WDE.
  16. Thanks. Smoking a bird here. What are you eating?
  17. It hasn't been ugly, but it has been very interesting, and of late - tiring. This is a rare drama - the coach of a good football school being fired on Halloween with many games left to play and lots of speculation about who the next HC is. It's been fun speculating, but I'm tired. Freeze, please.
  18. I've hoped for Deion, I've hoped for Kiffin, and now I'm honestly hoping for Freeze. If the truth be told, he's the best of the three. Proven SEC HC, recruiter, program builder, QB developer, wins wherever he goes without quitting on anyone. If he just had some morals...or maybe he does now. Who knows.
  19. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with Freeze. And he might be the best option as far as program-building and winning goes, QB development, long-term commitment. He would jump at the chance to get back in the SEC and would thrive at AU, if he could be accepted here. On the other hand, his previous demonstration of lack of morals renders him unthinkable to many, I understand. At what point does he deserve another chance at a good place like AU? Ever?
  20. Personally, I love new threads like this. They spark more responses and give me more to read.
  21. I like Georgia's DC. I also like Muschamp. Isn't Muschamp's son playing for UGA? If so, I doubt Will would leave that for Auburn right now. But hey, I think Muschamp liked his previous stints at Auburn. Wouldn't be shocked to see him back.
  22. I have no insight here, just hoping he didn't return because no one else wanted him. Question: Once a player "enters the portal" is AU required to accept him back if he withdraws from the portal?
  23. I was 10 years old and that's the day I became an Auburn fan for life. I hated hearing everyone dog Auburn and loved seeing everyone in my family miserable after AU won that game. I remember seeing agony. Pain. Wailing. And for some reason, I loved it. It was beautiful. Punt Bama punt.
