  1. Why the hell anyone was expecting 4 or 5 commits by the end of March is crazy. Auburn powers that be put Harsin and the entire football program thru hell trying to find some reason somewhere to fire him. Who's to say it won't happen again. If I'm a recruit I'll come to Auburn for a visit but I'm going to take a wait and see approach through at least 1/4 the season to make a decision. And I don't trust silent commits either
  2. There have been so many negative posters about Harsin & company it is hard to tell when some are being negative or trying to make a joke unless the post indicates the intent. What may appear obvious to some flies over the heads of others. But I'll try & do better in the future.😀
  3. The he must have an identical twin working his ass off to recruit, support other AU teams, while at the same time preparing for one of the toughest spring football practices since the Dye era.
  4. It is thought that someone with influence at Auburn either contacted or was contacted by Hugh Freeze or his agent. He apparently wants the job if it becomes available. When Greene hired Harsin, some boosters wanted Freeze at that time but Allen said no, he was going in a different direction. After this season's collapse, with the players and coaches leaving (mainly Mason to take a lesser job), it became evident to many that Harsin at Auburn is not going to work. So here we are.
  5. In response to your title of the thread....Yes, it is time for a change. It's time for those men or women who call themselves boosters to think of Auburn University first and not their own egos. We all know they donate millions of $$ and we who are Auburn fans thank them. But they have done so much harm to Auburn this time that it will take years to overcome, if it can be overcome at all. Nationally Auburn is the laughingstock of college sports, even though our basketball team is #1 in the country. Auburn has always had the reputation of too much influence by the boosters and it is time for this to end! I'm not an A club member but I would like to see the thousands of members of this group sign a petition demanding the board of trustees do something about these boosters who constantly hurt Auburn. I'm sure in their minds they think they are doing good, but in reality they are hurting Auburn's reputation. The A Club men and women carry a lot of weight with the university since they actually attended and played for Auburn. I would think the president and board majority would listen to their appeal and take action.
  6. You've gotten off your initial subject I replied to. You said that the Thompson bunch (coaches) were steering players away from Auburn to bama. I'm telling you that is not fact. As for the REC, you are probably right. I'm sure they "helped" with expenses to get the family to the mainland. But the choice of where to live was not Nick Saban's.
  7. Nick sent them nowhere. Tua Senior looked all over Alabama and was impressed with the offense Mark Freeman ran at Thompson and previously at Spanish Fort. The offense fit little Tua perfectly so they decided on Alabaster, who was in the process of forming their own school district and building a state of the art football stadium and facility. Not to mention a new school. The Tua family are devout Christians, as is Mark Freeman. If you ever get the chance to meet him I suggest you do so. Your opinion of what goes on at Thompson will probably change.
  8. No one. As bad as I hate to say it they all chose the premier team in the state with the premier coach who puts a ton of players in the NFL. Maybe one day soon Auburn will be good enough to land these players but over the most recent time period we aren't even close.
  9. I know what you mean. The Thompson coaches are so full of bammer that one of their coaches allows his daughter to be on Auburn's women's golf team, and has done this for the last 4 years. And by the way, out of high school she had her pick of SEC schools, among others.
  10. My bad. Vizinna is from Briarwood. (tomato/Tomatto)
  11. He also had Al Borges. One of the best QB coaches I've ever seen.
  12. Then spend more time on the basketball board.
  13. They're not duck hunting. This staff keeps things extremely close to the vest. And Harsin has let it be known if you leak info, you're ass is gone. Much the same as other head coaches in the SEC. Why do you think we have so many "insiders" who want Harsin gone?
  14. Many current players were not the least bit sad to see Bo go. He rubbed many the wrong way with his attitude. Calzada has the chance to win the team over with his attitude and heart.
  15. Agree 100%. It is the hardest job in the SEC for the reasons you stated, plus we are caught between the two best recruiters in college football with Saban and now Kirby. Both bama and Ga have turned over all the resources their football coaches need to do their jobs. Auburn has not done that. Sure we're spending more than we ever have but it still pales in comparison to our biggest rivals. Plus the constant meddling of our boosters is mind numbing. Even trying to run our current AD out of town because a handful of boosters didn't like his football hire. It's BS but it's Auburn being Auburn.
  16. For you old timers who remember Henny Youngman's routine......"Take my wife........PLEASE".😄
  17. There are many on here that are questioning you mental state as well.😃
