  1. I think its ok to base the success of the season based on your view. Im not going to bash people too much for choosing to ciew it like that. I think it's also ok, especially at this juncture of Bruce's tenure, to start to judge based on the main goal of any program that claims to be a 'top 20 program'. Success in the tourney. No one can remember who won the SEC reg season or tourney title ten years from now without looking it up. But I can name plenty of magical elite 8 and final four runs of plenty of teams. People remember the tourney cause it's thr main goal of the season.
  2. Clearly, not everyone is here to just sunshine pump, I think therin lies some of the problem. Bruce made plenty of mistakes over the last few years that frustate many fans. He's been here like a decade, it's time to quit telling everyone to just be happy we just don't suck and actually make progress toward more sustained NCAA tourney success. Bama made a final four the year after getting a 1 seed. They should be getting praise. Do I like it? Not really.
  3. What @Dual-Threat Rigby is saying isn't false. He doesn't have to stop sharing his viewpoint cause you don't like facing the truth just because it's our rival. Can't handle critical viewpoints, still. Grow up instead of poorly attempting to bully your viewpoint on to everyone else.
  4. This kind of confirms my thoughts that while KD was a great spark plug for energy, he wasn't a very smart or efficient basketball player. There's alot of teams between Auburn and George Mason that would have taken a flier on you, otherwise.
  5. I came back here just to say @GwillMac6is a claseless douchebag. Has been for a while. Glad to see he's still making friends. @Dual-Threat Rigby, if you say something GWill disagrees with strongly enough, he takes it like he's 3 and follows you everywhere you go on the board and harasses you to feed his vendetta. I know from personal experience. He signs on and posts "LFG babyyyyy" when auburn does well, but avoids the forum for days after a loss cause he can't handle the critical viewpoints. has the emotional intelligence of a middle schooler, like Texas said. He sounds like one of those idiot frat guys that peaked back in high school, can't get a better job than a home depot salesman, and comes on here to feel big about himself.
  6. Sentiment on the UK boards seems to be that their AD doesn't want to go near any coach with a hint of scandal on his resume. They say that's why he didn't push for Oats too hard (Miller scandal) and why he won't call CBP, much to the chagrin of most of their fans. We'll see how many people have to say no before Barnhart bends that rule.
  7. I agree with most of what you said, except I don't think losing Bruce has to mean a return to the SEC cellar. Maybe a setback, but if Auburn can make the right hire to replace Bruce if that were to happen, we could recover and build on the foundation Bruce put in place.
  8. UK boards are under the impression that BP should be next up after Drew. They also seem to unanimously agree that BP would jump at the opportunity, and that he wants it so bad that maybe he even takes a short term deal just to get the chance to coach there (UK arrogance?). I'm not sure I ever got that same impression of BP's desire for UK, but I might be missing something. Their boards seem less uniform if their AD Barnhart would accept a coach with a show cause on his resume. And half their board thinks he's a sleezy cheater.
  9. Well I see I'm a bit behind. Thanks!
  10. I mean, of those two choices it's not even close. You take Bucky literally 10 out of 10 times. I think there may be better choices out there than Bucky, but I'll be honest, I'm not all that familiar with Bucky Ball outside their one game with Kansas. Auburn doesn't need to sell itself short. I'd target KSU's Jerome Tang. I like how he recruits and gets transfers (very BP like, but recruits better guards). I'd make Dusty May at FAU say no (even after his final four run is only making $1.25M). And if there's a chance in hell we talk Todd Golden into taking over for BP, you make that hire in a hearbeat.
  11. He is definitely one of the most unique big men I've seen. Very effective.
  12. I dont have a grudge. And I dont need CBM's apology. If I could pick one thing to improve in this whole situation, it would be BP learning better accountability. This all really falls on him. CBM's thug behavior is just an down stream effect from that root cause. But I'm not pretending I have any effect on Auburn.
  13. I used two of the four listed keywords in the rule that i felt fit the situation. I assumed you were familiar with it and would pick up on that after all your bravado on knowing the rules better than the rest of us. Guess I'll spell it out for you next time 😂.
  14. Dude, you asked me about the rule and I practically quoted part of the rule back to you in my response. I told you I would classify it has brutal or harsh. You just ignored that part of my response and went on telling everyone your opinion is fact and youre the only one that knows the rule. Scream it loud enough Cole, maybe it'll come true for you.
  15. Only time I recall facepalming you on this topic was after our discussion when you admitted to another poster you weren't even that familiar with CBM's previous fouls. I found it odd you'd argue so hard his play was appropriate then admit that. Doesn't seem to back up your position well. While I'd love to go find these fouls and run down them with you, I don't have that kind of time with a 2 week old baby.
  16. And just because you say his play was appropriate doesn't make it that way, either. In fact, I'd say his foul record of techs and flagrants seem to disagree with you. Unless those fouls were designed to be called for 'appropriate play'. I've never once said the Yale kid was fine. The reason I have to constantly say I didn't say something when discussing with you is you have a horrible habit of making s*** up. If you think previous play that draws constant techs and flagrants doesn't affect how a ref calls a player, I don't know what to tell you. Against the rules or not.
  17. I.e. whitewashing his previous play as 'aggressive' and not innappropiate, and disregarding the fact that the refs probably took prior history with CBM into consideration for the call and didn't treat it as an isolated incident. All while calling Auburn fans that don't agree with him relics of a bygone basketball era that want slow white guys who pass the ball 50 times a possession. I think I encapsulated most of your previous ridiculous arguments there.
  18. This is one if the most off base posts I've seen in a long time.
  19. It's getting brought up again cause we're watching our rival go to the Elite 8 led by the guy we could have had. It's not rocket science...instead you want to divert to some random hypothetical not applicable to the moment like there isn't some giant tournement going on where this guy is killing it every game. You can discuss your random hypothetical in the offseason. Half the people here still think there isn't any issue with how and who BP has been recruiting guard wise.
  20. Because it's the classic case of what could have been had BP recognized Sears' talent. It's been shared on this board that Sears wanted and possibly preferred to be at Auburn. The fact we didn't recruit him at all might be one of BP's biggest mistakes and oversights. BP has little control over Shariffe or Thor staying. He DID have control over recruiting Sears, and didn't do it.
  21. Well in that case let me take it all back... My criticism is not unfair. And if fair critique and criticism pushes him to retire, than it probably is time for him to do so. Auburn will be fine if makes a quality hire after the foundation BP built. Just pray to God that his son doesn't replace him.
