  1. CBM reminds me a little of George Gervin (yeah I'm that old) with his frame and plain old smooth. If he just had half the offense of Gervin then AU would win the championship.
  2. Yale doesn't shoot 3's. Their points come inside and they are going to have to go through the strength of this AU team to get there. As already said, Yale has 7 guys that get nearly all the minutes and AU goes 10 deep with less than 25 min each. Finally, Yale has not played a defense anything close to what AU is going to bring. That's a statistical fact, not my opinion. If it's true that it's "all about match ups" then it's bad news for Yale.
  3. Indiana St. should have been in uva's spot at a minimum.
  4. Auburn had self-centered selfish inadequate guard play that refused to feed two first round draft picks. That wasn't just a NCAA tournament thing. AU guard play combined with a brilliant game plan to drag the rim protection out of the paint and you get the Miami game. That last point falls on Bruce to be frank about it. The more I think about the Yale game the more I think AU's going to be coasting at the end. I just don't think Yale has the talent but more importantly the legs to hang with AU. If it is a close game it will be because of a combo of stupid turnovers (see first half of SEC championship game), settling for bad 3 point shots, and stupid fouls that send Yale to the line. All that could certainly happen so I'm not calling a lock. However, if AU just plays to their average then they will win by double figures.
  5. That was my first thought. I highly, highly doubt there is a Wade Taylor, Josh Hubbard, or Mark Sears on Yale's roster.
  6. NIL has changed the whole dynamic. Three years ago I would have said there is no chance that Cardwell would be back. However, he could make as much or more on NIL as he could getting a real job or playing overseas. Unless you just really hate going to class it now makes more financial sense to stay in school another year and possibly/probably get a Masters degree.
  7. Johnson? No KD. Just Johnson? I really wish they could have worked Lior in there somewhere.
  8. It's a competition whether AU got screwed harder by the polls in 1984 or the refs in 2019. I'd call that one a draw. Had they tackled Tommy Hodson on 4th down in 1988 it most likely would have Dye with no question. However, since AU had really no basketball tradition to speak of, I think Bruce getting AU to this sustained level of success gives him the nod.
  9. Yale has not seen a defense like AU's. The people calling for the upset most likely haven't seen an AU game at all and if they did actually watch part of a game it was most likely the UK and/or UT games. AU has two different guys that can handle their 7 foot center and their guards are going to be smothered all day by a constant barrage of fresh legs. The best Yale can hope for is to slow the game way down and get to the free throw line as much as possible, which is a real possibility if the game is called tight.
  10. AU certainly got screwed but UConn even more so. I'd be even more pissed if I were them. You do all that work over the entire regular season and then you get stuck in the same bracket with AU, Iowa St., Illinois, and FAU. I guess the reward part is home court for almost the entire tournament.
  11. I think Broome is going to get drafted. Probably early second round. He doesn't have huge upside (by NBA standards) because of his athleticism but he has everything else.
  12. Like I said, it's a timing thing. The committee is not going to reshuffle all the top seeds because AU won a couple of SEC tournament games. It didn't move the needle in 2019 when AU won and it didn't move the needle when AU lost in 2022.
  13. Broome is going to be a serviceable 4 in the league.
  14. The first time I ever rolled Toomer's Corner it was in the rain. John Caylor hit a last second shot and AU beat KY in Rupp.
  15. It's always nice winning two games in one day.
  16. I love to see AU pushing the ball up the floor after every rebound. SCar is worn out. Lot's of standing around and flat feet.
  17. If she can shoot 75% from the stripe then put a jersey on her.
  18. Dylan's free throws are flatter than Natalie Portman.
  19. I think it was also because the shot clock didn't reset.
  20. Great cut and pass. Holloway just couldn't finish.
