  1. I didn't realize Myles Rice was in the portal. That would be a huge get for BP.
  2. Pegues would be a senior correct? It would be nice to get someone with a similar skillset that would be here at least two years.
  3. Not sure what you would make fun of. I didn't say Broome wasn't athletic. I said he doesn't have upside based on his athleticism and/or size. He doesn't have the hops and quickness that the NBA likes to take a chance on in order to turn into a upper tier player. I've said here before that I think Broome could make a serviceable 4 in the league especially if he continues to improve his outside shot. For the record, Broome is much more athletic than Jokic. It's not even close.
  4. I don't think Broome plays the 5 if he makes it to the NBA. For the teams that actually utilize what is considered to be a traditional center, they are generally rim protectors and rebounders. I see Broome as a power 4 and I think his draft stock is mid-late second round at best. He just doesn't have the athletic upside or size that the NBA is perpetually enamored with. Don't get me wrong, I think Broome has the skills and work ethic to play in the NBA (Jared Harper did too) but that doesn't mean he will get his name called on draft day. That's where NIL becomes a real factor. Do you take a chance on the second round or even worse a two-way and then bounce around all over the U.S.? Or do you come back to AU (or somewhere else?) with, for all intents and purposes, a guaranteed one-year contract which would undoubtedly be more than two-way money. If the NIL is up in the hundreds of thousands then to me it's a no-brainer. I don't think one year will make much difference in his draft stock unless he shoots in the upper 30's from behind the arc on volume. You never know. If Broome returns to AU then that is a solid core for next year.
  5. According to Bruce, the plan is to play Pettiford off the ball.
  6. Jerry Deng has been mentioned as a possible transfer to AU. He has got some skills for 6'9 but he didn't have any power 5 offers coming out of high school. He looks a lot like JT Thor to me. I'd never heard of the kid until I saw this video. The competition looks really weak but still, 37 points is 37 points.
  7. Has KD already graduated? If I had already graduated and wasn't more or less guaranteed a starting spot then I would look for something else as well. I loved AU when I was there but I was ready to move on to the next chapter when I walked across that stage. BTW, I only shook his hand once but Dr. Martin had huge hands.
  8. I think AU should hold out for Bucky-ball 😄
  9. Good luck KD. I enjoyed watching you play. Also, I wish Malik Dunbar had another year of eligibility.
  10. Steven made his opinion crystal clear starting at 6:14.
  11. Alabama University. I hope he did that on purpose but you just never know with Chuck 😄
  12. I'd love to hear Mike Tirico call an AU basketball game...."Chaney Johnson...Chaney Johnson! ...Chaney JOHNSON!! ...CHANEY JOHNSON!!!"
  13. I worry the most about Holloway just because this is all new to him. My hope is that Broome, Williams, Cardwell et al can keep him loose. I can't put KD in that group because he's pure adrenalin all the time 🙂 Hopefully the SEC tournament acclimated him a little. Regardless, I agree that AU will go as far as the guard play takes them. If Aden and/or Trey turn the ball over a lot then AU's stay in Spokane will not last long.
  14. Dude is almost 70 years old. I'm guessing this tournament will be his swan song.
  15. The great equalizer in a lot of these upsets is the 3 point shot. Yale just doesn't shoot very many. They may go unconscious behind the arc today but if they do they would be completely abandoning their identity for the entire year. AU covers.
  16. #30 for NC State is less athletic than Nikola Jokic.
  17. Did I hear that stat correctly? Gohlke has only shot 8 two point shots all year?
  18. Meechie and BJ Mack have combined for only 10 points in the first half. SCar is going to mess around and get sent home.
  19. AU could possibly have had Jonathan Kuminga, Jalen Green, and Scoot Henderson if it were not for Ignite. Good news indeed.
  20. Morehead St only down by one at the half against Illinois. T'would be nice to go ahead and get the Illini out of the East bracket early. Edit: Much like Arizona did, Illinois had enough of the foolishness and closed the door.
  21. Long Beach St has played Arizona even the first half. I love college basketball. Edit: Man, the Wildcats opened up a can on LBSt to start the second half.
  22. Not even 2 hours in and my bracket is already busted all to hades. Thanks Miss St.
  23. The sad truth is that there are plenty of people that like his schtick enough to keep him well payed.
