  1. Kessler is being wasted in Utah. I don't know what Will Hardy is trying to do with that roster. It's just all over the place.
  2. Thor would have been a star at AU. Too bad he didn't stick around. As for Okeke, I don't see where he would land if/when Orlando let's him go. Hopefully he was wise with his money and is set for life.
  3. DJ played at Buckhorn so maybe he knows some folks on Winchester Rd that could put in a good word for BP. Fun fact: I scored 4 points against Buckhorn in 1983. I would've had 6 if there had been a three point line 🤣
  4. AU doesn't have a great track record getting the top players in AL. I hope this time is different.
  5. I agree. All I've heard is that Aden has a strong work ethic so he's going to improve. The kid just needs a little time to mature.
  6. I would have preferred Aden stayed at AU as well. There's no denying the kid had a rocky freshman season. If he had been a four star then he probably would have gotten a longer honeymoon. That McDonald's All-American label is a high bar. I think his defense got better as the season progressed or at least his effort did. I'll be honest though, of all the places he could go it seems like a big middle finger to AU to give Coach Douchebag a visit.
  7. That wasn't directed at Pegues specifically but rather a comment on college sports in general.
  8. I'm fine with either Pegues or Rice. Skill-wise I think they are pretty close. Rice is a little bigger. I wanted Rice primarily because there was at least the potential for him to be at AU more than one year. Having said that, if Broome decides to return then Pegues is probably the best choice regardless. I'm hoping that is the case.
  9. I always thought that Cam looked somewhat underwhelmed after the BCS championship game. I thought it was because his was injured in the game. In light of the information in this interview, it appears that he was just glad that it was over. More relief than elation.
  10. I don't like players "taking their talents to South Beach" when they encounter adversity. Call me old school. Call me out of touch. Call me a cab. I'll own any of those labels and more.
  11. I don't disagree. If we're looking at 2024-2025 exclusively then Pegues is the best choice. I guess that's what you have to do in the age of the transfer portal. I just don't like it.
  12. Not gonna lie. I was hoping for Rice. However, Pegues is the man now so onward and upward.
  13. Justin Hokanson says that Cardwell will be back for one more year.
  14. 100% my reaction to 2010. It made me realize all the gnashing of teeth and hand wringing over what some teenagers and early-20-somethings did on a court/field was a literal waste of brain time. Now I enjoy it for a couple hours after an AU win and I just walk away from any losses. I really could not care less what bama does in any sport except for one important thing: when bama loses it just brings peace and quiet for a little while. If you get worked up over what a coach/player says or does then you need to step away and spend some time with the people you love and the people that love you. Even worse is getting worked up over what a complete stranger on a forum says, but that's a different thread. To be honest, it took me a lot longer than I would like to admit to arrive at this spot.
  15. Steven Adams makes a good living doing basically the same thing and there are a few others as well. I'm not saying any NBA offense is going to start with or run through him and no one is going to confuse him with Embiid or AD. However, there is a place for him in the NBA if he continues to work.
  16. Billy Donovan at UK would be unfortunate for the rest of the SEC.
  17. I'm really starting to lose interest in college athletics in general.
  18. Man. I wish the basketball forum over at auburn.scout.com was still active. Shoes were all we had to talk about during the Barbee years.
  19. I watched Ciampi's teams in the 80's and Beard-Eaves was empty. To be fair, I only really went when they were opening for the men. You could get there for the women's game and literally pick your seat. AU is a football school. Full stop. We on this forum are the fringe. There is also a small group that wants AU to be good in all sports but if the choice were between football and all other sports they would go only football. Note that this is all comparatively speaking. I know that Neville games are packed (for the guys) but it most certainly would not be if it seated 85K. Also note that this is not a criticism. It's just reality and it's not just AU. I think the only thing that might change that is an extended run that included multiple championships over a 10 year period. Take a look at Florida. When the general AU fan thinks of UF is Steve Spurrier the first coach that comes to mind or is it Billy Donovan?
  20. It doesn't sound like KD was kicked out. He wants to play somewhere else and then come back to AU to finish his degree. He wants to say he graduated from AU.
  21. That's disappointing. To be fair, I did some disappointing things when I was 21 too.
  22. I watched Vicki Orr play in high school then I watched her at AU. Back then you could get in free to the women's game and sit pretty much wherever you wanted in Beard-Eaves.
  23. I really hope Myles Rice gives AU a shot. If Pegues does come to AU I hope it's because Broome is coming back.
