I think AU would have at most 2 losses with Sears on the team. Maybe the KY game and one other game just because it's really hard to go undefeated. Just think about Sears alongside Broome, Williams, CBM plus Bruce's bench. That would be a freaking buzz saw.

The Bruce-flex is fun to watch when it's clicking.

I hope Aden sticks with AU after this year. He is going to be a really good college basketball player before all is said and done. He's got the skills but more importantly the work ethic. It doesn't matter what your vocation is, those two attributes are a sure-fire combo for success.

If the SEC tournament finished on Friday or Saturday then I think it might have an impact on the NCAA tournament seedings. However, the committee already has those top seeds locked in by the time the SEC tournament championship game is played. The only thing that would change the bracket is some Cinderella that wins a conference tournament championship and steals a spot from some poor sap on the bubble. An AU loss in the quarterfinals might put doubt in the committee's mind while building the brackets. However, winning the SEC probably isn't going to move the needle at all simply because it's too late.

It's a timing thing. The NCAA tournament seedings are mostly finished before the SEC championship game. Don't you remember that AU won it in 2019, got "rewarded" with a 5 seed, and had to play a really good NM State team the same week with essentially no time to acclimate to the elevation in Utah? AU got royally screwed after winning the SEC because the championship game was the same day that the NCAA brackets were announced.

The SEC tournament results have no bearing on NCAA tournament seeding unless the champion wasn't going to get invited anyway. See 2019.

Jalen not Jaden

I hope the failed experiment with these kids going to Ignite is over, especially in the age of NIL. You can see how it stunted players like Jaden Green and Scoot Henderson. Those guys are super talented but they don't have any idea how to play on a team. They were always the man on their team and now they are in a league where most everyone was the man.

Klay has dropped 60 in 29 minutes. If Knecht can match that then he's a future hall of famer.

I was at the Vandy game in 99 when AU won the SEC. I hung around down on the court for a long time after the game. Without a doubt my greatest memory in Beard-Eaves.

I'm not sure why Bruce doesn't hedge more on the high screens. The well-coached teams have hurt AU the last few years hedging those high screens. WG couldn't even get 2 seven footers the ball when he was jumped up on the key. It was so frustrating watch. The turds did the same thing wed night and neither AH or TD were able to get the ball over/under/around that help defender. If I were an opposing coach I would do it every time down the floor until AU showed they could consistently exploit the hedge.

KY is just all over the place. Maybe they'll get hot come March but right now they are just five or six really talented individuals.

Berman gave Bruce 110% tonight. He earned every minute he was on the floor.

Aden has the skill. He just doesn't have the confidence to go with it yet. When that happens he's going to be a sniper. I truly hope we get to see Holloway, Donaldson, and Pettiford on the same team next year. That combo of experience and talent in the backcourt is what March dreams are made of.

Chuma was a star at AU but not so much the NBA*. His minutes with the Magic have steadily decreased since he's been in the league. Hopefully he'll get traded and utilized better somewhere else. Having said that, just making a roster means you're one of the best 500 players on planet earth.
