The last question was about "academic redshirt". Anyone know what the reporter was referring too. It appeared as CGM seamed a little confused on the question.

An "academic redshirt" is new this year, at least the term is. Fifteen years or so ago it was called "prop 48". Then it was done away with, now pops back up with a new name. It's for a player whose grades and/or test scores aren't good enough to qualify but are good enough that he won't have to go the JUCO route. So he gets to be in school and practice with his team for a year, but not play. Sort of a forced redshirt. One prominent recruit that came here under a Prop-48 and sat out his first year was Stephen Davis, who led the SEC in rushing along about 1995.

Who, if any player among our signees might fit into this narrow slot is something I don't know.
