Arizona recenly passed a proposition banning benefits given to illegal immigrants.

Now the Mexican president wants this stopped. Why?

I don't know how many are illegal here in north Alabama, but if the trend continues, those of us who speak english will be in a minority!

The most effective way to stop the flow of illegals into the US is to do just as Arizona did and forbid ANY government assistance to them. If they want the benefits of the US, then follow the rules and come in legally. But the libs will never go for that; it would deprive them of the next generation of their "downtrodden class" to fight for and make them just an unpleasant memory in US political history.

I agree, but Bush isn't helping the cause with his plan.

The main reason this issue is used is for votes. They see it as a political issue, not a social problem.

So what about the chaep labor, we will end up paying forit in the long run.

Business and their buddies in the Bush Government want to bring in illegal immigrants to take whatever jobs remain in America that can't be outsourced. Gotta be competitive and get people who will work for 15 cents an hour and no bathroom breaks, you know.

"Guest Worker" is just a new way to say "Pedro's coming to get your job".

Oh yeah, put it all on the Bush Administration. What about Gray Davis? He got recalled. Giving illegal immigrants free benefits like, drivers liscence, free health insurance, etc.

Now a place up in Wisconsin or Minnesota wants to give grants to illegals so they can build a house. Are you kidding me, oh yeah, it's all Bush's friggin fault.

Don't expect the conservatives to go for it, either. They like having as many working Americans as possible made into a downtrodden class to be kicked around and kept in line through fear. Who do you think is promoting "guest workers" to be bussed up to take our jobs?

Mexican Government Guide to Illegal Immigration

In December 2004, the Mexican government began providing illegal aliens a booklet describing methods to assist them in coming to the U.S., as well as explaining how to avoid detection in the U.S. once they arrived.

It is a great system we are working on here. Send all the decent paying manufacturing jobs overseas. Then allow a flood of illegal aliens in to take the low paying menial jobs no one wants. Now tax the hell out of everyone so you can give free stuff to the american people who don't work because they are too lazy or have no oppurtunity.

While we could always use more Border Patrol Agents, we have enough Border Patrol Agents to shut down illegal immigration. A huge number of people are caught. The problem is with how illegals are processed and the infrastructure to process them. The infrastructure to process illegals has been gutted. This is done intentionally to allow illegals to enter the country through legal loopholes. I will give an example:

When the Border Patrol catches non-mexicans coming across the Southern border, they cannot return them to Mexico. Mexico will refuse to admit them. They are supposed to go to detainment facilities where they will eventually be sent home. However these detainment facilities only exist in the law books and not in reality. Instead, the OTM's (other than mexicans) are released on their on recognizance and informed to show up for a court date in front of an immigration judge in the nearest American city. The OTM’s of course never show up. The gov’t knows they will never show up. This was purposely orchestrated in this manner in order to conceal form the American people what is happening. Politicians can propose to add more Border Patrol agents knowing it won’t make a difference.

Also, The laws on the books are not enforced because of the sheer number of apprehensions. So we don’t need any more laws. We simply need to be allowed to enforce the law. Buses come by three times a day to the Border Patrol station to remove Mexican illegals back to Mexico. However, the same group will be caught again tomorrow until they finally make it past. They know that there is no punishment for getting caught. Only after repeated apprehensions will the Mexicans be charged with a slap on the wrist. Only the more serious cases get any attention, for example Mexicans with serious criminal records (USA) are extradited to serve the remainder of their sentences and charged with the applicable laws. It is common to find child molesters, multiple DUIs, professional thieves and worse.

One bright spot is the IDENT/IAFIS system that allows agents to finger print/photo graph every apprehension and place them into a computer date base. In just a few minutes, a guy’s entire criminal and immigration history pops up on the screen. This has made a HUGE difference.

You're right.

Kind of like juveniles being caught in acts of crime. The police arrest them, fill out a report, but by the time they get there, they are released to their parents back on the street committing more crimes.
