John McWhorter: The Neoracists A new religion is preached across America. It's nonsense posing as wisdom.

Third Wave Antiracism’s needlepoint homily par excellence is the following:

Battling power relations and their discriminatory effects must be the central focus of all human endeavor, be it intellectual, moral, civic or artistic. Those who resist this focus, or even evidence insufficient adherence to it, must be sharply condemned, deprived of influence, and ostracized.

McWhorter and Glenn Loury have some good discussions on bloggingheads.tv

McWhorter is a racist sack of s*** himself. Here he is - a linguist, mind you, not a geneticist - arguing that black people have an inherent cognitive deficiency that will be revealed in the next 5 years, and that eugenics is the answer.

Imagine thinking this sack of s*** is a worthwhile intellectual.

Never been a Trump fan, didn't vote for him. Stated it multiple times over the years. But I will call out lies when presented. Know that.

Do you think that the average IQs of members of each race are identical?

Race is a meaningless concept in this regard and biologically invalid. McWhorter there is a Charles Murray fanboy, so the foundation for his thinking is already incredibly flawed.

People that view it from that framework confuse concepts like genetic determinism with heritability. IQ - a flawed measure of "intelligence" in its own right- does not explicitly correlate with race. i.e. high or low IQ is not genetically "inherent" to ANY particular race.

Racialism is a dead science. Cast it off.

I haven’t seen or read much of McWhorter but l like him. I had some experiences last year that made me reassess a lot of things. A closer relationship due to a long conversation with an old distant friend. He opened me up to a different mindset that I previously would have dismissed as traitorous or grifting. Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams and especially Shelby Steele have destroyed nearly everything I thought about race and disparities. As McWhorter states here, white  people can’t say these things. It has to be led by black people. These guys don’t get enough publicity.

That you're just now learning of these people says a lot.

As I have said in the past, the red pill is incredibly seductive. As Alexander Pope once said, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

I mean we have a guy that endorses base biological "race realism" being held up as some sort of luminary here. A black man that argues black people are inherently inferior by nature, and y'all just can't help yourselves.

Absolutely laughable.

Something more dangerous is knowledge that only allows certain ideologies to impress upon us. What use is knowledge when you already know what you are going to reject.

The living embodiment of the "friend" argument. Tokenism made manifest.

As I said above, McWhorter is a damned fool speaking out of his depth with regard to genetics, skilled and respected linguist though he may be.

He's currently embroiled in a brouhaha on Twitter wherein he challenged another black man that questioned him in good faith to a debate, the backed out.

It's "knowledge" I know to reject because I can weigh it on its merits and call bull**** immediately.

I don’t know much about McWhorter. I would love to see this man or anyone try to debate Tom Sowell. That would be suicide. But he’s 90 years old now and probably not interested in it..
