toddc 13,194
Auburn offers Rhode Island transfer OT Ajani Cornelius Keith Niebuhr•about 4 hours Rhode Island Athletics Auburn on Thursday offered Rhode Island offensive tackle transfer Ajani Cornelius. Right now he’s one of the hottest names in the NCAA transfer portal. This is what On3’s Nikki Chavanelle wrote about Cornelius on Thursday morning: “Rhode Island offensive lineman Ajani Cornelius entered his name in the transfer portal on Tuesday and has rapidly become one of the most sought-after transfer prospects in the country. Cornelius started 22 games over the past two seasons for the Rams. The right tackle sat out his first two years on campus but took over the starting job at right tackle last year and earned All-CAA first-team honors this year. Despite playing for the 7-4 FCS squad, Cornelius’s portal entry has caught the attention of top FBS programs such as Oregon and Penn State within the past 48 hours. Missouri was the first program to extend him an “offer” after he announced he would transfer following three years in Rhode Island. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound sophomore has also reported offers from Indiana, Minnesota, Syracuse, Louisville, Memphis, Cincinnati, Akron, Marshall, Nebraska, West Virginia, Kansas, Washington State and Virginia.” Cornelius has three years to play two seasons. He’s a New York native.
AUINSY 2,228
Well, will you look at this! The first thing the new coach does is start tracking down offensive lineman. A far cry from the past two coaches, and a great sign. It's great to have a coach who realizes you need some offensive linemen! Too late to edit my post but didn’t want to get slammed for my comment. Somehow I used the word “foot” and meant it to be “slot.” Edited December 3, 2022 by au701948
