Check this out: a congressman has declared the BCS system "deeply flawed" and has called for a hearing on the matter.

Anybody with half a brain knows what a terrible system the BCS is. Not really sure it is the government's place to poke its nose into things like this, but just this once it might be a good idea, since the idiots in the NCAA and BCS can't get it right.

Do I hear "playoff"? :cheer:

Yeah, nice to see Congress has time to focus on the important things, rather than incidentals like war, terrorism, hurricane reconstruction, health care, an energy crisis with winter coming on, their own ethics, etc.

The BCS mess can be laid directly at the feet of one specific group of people: the college presidents who refuse to allow a playoff system.
