That is just about as close as a game can get stat wise, but the only stat that matters is the scoreboard. If you told me before the game we were going to put up 349 total yards with Newton at qb, I would have called you crazy!

Some individual stats of note also:

Newton was the SC leading rusher. 20 carries for 44 yards.

He was also 21/35 for 240 in passing.

Irons had 27 carries for 117 yards.

Cox was 13/19 for 170 yards. He was -13 yards rushing and -22 on the season, so that is one stat we need to work on.

We shut down Rice, but McKinley had a big day on our back up secondary guy. He had 8 cathces for 110 yards. That is a 13.8 yard per catch average.

Courtney Taylor had the most receiving yards for us with 2 catches for 43 yards. Tommy Trott had the most catches with 3 for 31 yards. Cox hit 9 different receivers in all!

Kody Bliss is a stud. He averaged 57 yards on his 2 punts.

I think that was what made the game so close. We were not prepared for him to be able to put up those numbers. I believe our secondary underestimated him.
