Tebow really is the man

Do you realize that Auburn is the only team to stop Tebow, and we did it 2 plays, wow, :o When he broke that 15 yarder up the middle, I thought , that"s it, we are done. Miracles do happen I guess. Did anyone notice that he was the only player on the field ,including Auburn, with a security guard escort leaving the field, and he"s only a true freshman. He also had an espn camera in his face the whole night. I don"t care who you pull for in college football, this kid will be fun to watch. I give him 2 years and he"s gone B)

I say wait till hes the man at QB next year and there is pressure on him to perform.. every down, before proclaiming him anything. Right now he comes in at selected times during a game to perform scripted plays, what happens when that play falls apart how will he react? You also have to remember that the reason he is so successful right now is because of Leak, because most teams still gameplan for Leak, Tebow adds another wrinkle, will he be able to be as successful when teams are only gameplanning for him? Time will tell.

I do admit he is impressive for a freshman, I'm just not ready to believe the hype until I see him next year, as the man...before I proclaim that he is the man...

If he plays with the effort he plays with now he will never make it an entire season in the SEC. His body will never hold up to that kind of abuse every week. People say he probably could have been one of the only kids to leave High School and go directly to the league.

I am one who is very impressed with Teabow. What I can't figure out is why he has been for the most part unstoppable. When he comes in everyone knows what he's going to do and he still runs for 15 yard clips.

I was standing there with my jaw dropped when he scored that TD on us.

unproven but not overated. He will need to rely on his arm next year or he will deal with injury. Maybe not a major injury, but twisted ankles and bruised shoulders. just enough to make him mortal. ;)

I agree , I will reserve judgement until he is responsible for playing an entire game. The Fridge was good at scoring for chicago from the goal line but I never heard anyone advocate that he play quarterback?

He's a play away from "out for the season". Urban better get away from that crap, or he will be looking for another QB.

i think tebow is overrated, this season he's 10 for 14 for 152 yards and thats inflated because everyone expects him to run...

his running stats are 44 for 246 which is 5.6 ypc.

Why do you think Florida goes to Leak to throw... I imagine its because Tebow can't handle pressure/makes bad decisions. I bet Tebow as the only quarterback right now would ruin florida. Defenses would pick him apart and eat him up. To make it even worse, the only team that he's thrown more than 2 passes against was UCF, the guy's overrated, im calling it now.

Too much hype....he is scripted-one dimensional today...he only runs....let's see what happens when he has to play all 60 plays in a game; make third and long throws, audibles at the line, read defenses, take pressure, etc....verdict is still out....he has tools; but right now he is all potential; nothing realized.....

I think that once he has to really read defenses and play the whole game I will then pass my irelavent judgement on him. As for right now we dont know what he will do1 One thing I will say is he runs right where you think he will and you can not stop him. hes just a monster. But as with tray he is young and teams dont gameplan for him so lets wait . We saw what happens when the media and all anoints people E.Ainge (sp) and B. Schaffer got waxed by us and were NEVER the same!

I agree that Tebow is fun to watch....but he only played a limited amount so I will hold off Heisman talk for now but as Raven said He is perfect to run the spread offense!

Until I see him hit the side of a barn with his passes, then we will see if he THE MAN. He is a big kid w/ a lot of talent and skills. Watching HHS play him last year, his passing was the only thing that lacked. He has a great arm, mobile, etc, etc. But, like others before me have said - wait 'til he is the number one QB and we will see how does.

Don't get me wrong sports fans - he is fun to watch.

Well, did you know that after signing with Florida he had a special contract drawn up with the university that guaranteed him personal security on campus and on the field, Limo service leaving away stadiums instead of riding the bus, any sideline camera must be directed at him so he can do his high knees and stretches, and a 3 foot buffer zone from any coach or teamate unless he generates a high five or congradulatory headbutt :uf:

Tebow is exactly the QB, to correctly, run Meyer's offense. Look out next year.

I agree with you that he is the right QB to run Meyer's System, however I am still not convinced that Meyer's system will be successful in the SEC. IMO Defenses are just to fast sideline to sideline....the only time I have ever seen a (moderated) version work with some degree of success was when Matt Jones was in Arkansas, but even with him they were not going to any MNC's or SECG's. Jury is still out with me.

Meyer is 15-4 in 2 years in the SEC, and that is with Leak running the offense last year solo. Leak has not been able to make the correct read (he's better this year) on the defensive end that is critical to making the spread offense run correctly. Plus Leak is not a running QB, he is really a pocket passer. This is really a credit to Leak that he has been able to improve in his read and running ability. Meyer's spread offense has been modified because of the contraints that Leak places on the offense. Tebow is an Alex Smith type QB. Smith was very successful in running the spread because of his running ability, and he could pass pretty well too. Next year we will see the full version of Meyer spread offense with Tebow at the helm. Scary.

I have never heard of a player getting that much treatment! Players and coaches cant be within 3 feet of him????? That sounds like a strange college life for sure!

I will say that I am impressed with the kid's confidence and energy. However, he has played not much more than a halfback taking direct snaps. He has thrown some this year, but I have yet to see him audible. It's hard to get a grip around his QB capability when he hasn't played a whole series (much less a whole game).

He has the backing of the Gator Nation, but so do most 2nd string QBs. Leak has never been fully appreciated at UF. Sure he has made mistakes, but there is nobody else on that team who could have this team in the top 10.

true, but you have to admit, he is fun to watch. He has so much confidence. I can"t believe he was playing on Fridays this time last year.

I don't find him fun to watch at all. You do. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Like you said Meyer still isnt running his offense and you could be totally right, however my belief is that I dont think a pure spread offense is gonna work in the SEC, but we shall see...all im saying
