Tebow really is the man

true, but you have to admit, he is fun to watch. He has so much confidence. I can"t believe he was playing on Fridays this time last year.

I don't find him fun to watch at all. You do. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well then should I say that he"s fun to watch against Bama and LSU, and fun against Auburn when he is stuffed. hows that? ;)

He is the man...The Man that is backing up the first string qb.

Tebow is exactly the QB, to correctly, run Meyer's offense. Look out next year.

I agree with you that he is the right QB to run Meyer's System, however I am still not convinced that Meyer's system will be successful in the SEC. IMO Defenses are just to fast sideline to sideline....the only time I have ever seen a (moderated) version work with some degree of success was when Matt Jones was in Arkansas, but even with him they were not going to any MNC's or SECG's. Jury is still out with me.

Meyer is 15-4 in 2 years in the SEC, and that is with Leak running the offense last year solo. Leak has not been able to make the correct read (he's better this year) on the defensive end that is critical to making the spread offense run correctly. Plus Leak is not a running QB, he is really a pocket passer. This is really a credit to Leak that he has been able to improve in his read and running ability. Meyer's spread offense has been modified because of the contraints that Leak places on the offense. Tebow is an Alex Smith type QB. Smith was very successful in running the spread because of his running ability, and he could pass pretty well too. Next year we will see the full version of Meyer spread offense with Tebow at the helm. Scary.

Like you said Meyer still isnt running his offense and you could be totally right, however my belief is that I dont think a pure spread offense is gonna work in the SEC, but we shall see...all im saying

He is running a modified (neutered) version of his offense to compensate for Leak deficiencies. What we see is a modified version of the spread offense, he is not running the West Coast system for sure...

Tebow is not overated. He is a stud of an athlete and will have great success at UF. I'm glad he's at UF and not AU though. Too much hype, too much press, not enough focus on TEAM. But to say this kid isn't great...and fun to watch...what?!

Here's the thing...he has really only proven he is high energy and can run the ball coming in a few plays per game. Like others are saying, he has proven nothing as far as passing goes. He could wind up being a fantastic duel threat QB, we will see next year. I have not seen him have to sit in the pocket and throw it down field to know how good he may be in that area. All of his passes have been quick slants. The one against LSU, was a fake run (he took one step forward) then stepped back and throw a little floater to the slanting WR.

His running has been impressive. I mean a FR coming in blowing up on veterans like Daniels and Landry at LSU!! Nothing other than that.

I'm not sure a qb take take the blows of running the ball that much in the SEC a whole season and be successful. Look at how many running backs we've lost to nagging injuries over the last few years. We share the load amongst our backs and they still have injuries. Carnell, Ronnie, Kenny, Brad, all had nagging injuries that caused them to miss games or entire seasons. I think Florida should be worried for who's being recruited to back up Tebow. Just like people were unsure of Carnell's durability after seasons in the SEC, I think this is a danger to Tebow's potential NFL career.

I'm also not sold on the spread offenses working. I think it is much less reliable game in and game out. I feel like the traditional pocket passer and play action pass will work against almost anyone. I just think its difficult to go a season without offensive letdowns in a spread offense. I think its great for 3 play drives like they did against us. I'm not sure it's good for driving the field consistently and giving your defense a rest.

Did anyone notice that he was the only player on the field ,including Auburn, with a security guard escort leaving the field, and he"s only a true freshman.

I don't think I've ever heard of that. Are you sure a state trooper didn't just walk beside him at one point? Why would he need a body guard?

This kid has all the tools. He will be a stud in the SEC and around the nation. Look, the way they have him working in the offense right now is nothing short of brilliant. Leak is a 4 year starter and Tebow is getting the opportunity to play in all the games, on all the biggest stages, against some of the best teams college football has to offer. We're only half way through the season. Can you imagine how ready this kid will be by the end of this year? Please!

I only wish we had someone, ANYONE with some real experience as a backup in case BC were to go down for a few games. Dude is a true freshman, 6'3" 230, strong as an ox and making Sports Center highlights. And some folks don't think he's going to be "The Man"?
