QUOTE OF THE DAY

From Amir Taheri in his editorial "Ahmadinejad and Russian Roulette":

http://www.asharqalawsat.com/english/news....n=2&id=8092

"In the old times, gunboat diplomacy worked because the man who sent the flotilla could use it without being second-guessed at every step. The gunboat was a symbol of power that was real because those who possessed it had the will and the courage to use it. In most cases, it was not actually used because those targeted knew that it could be used.

Today, however, the US has all the power in the world but lacks the will and courage to use it. …

Ahmadinejad, reported to watch a lot of CNN, has seen the gunboats sail in. But he has also seen Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, Barrack Obama, and other American luminaries such as Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky and Jane Fonda who would rather see Bush destroyed than the mullahs restrained."

Exactly the point, the Democrats are actually INCREASING the chance of armed conflict because they are emboldening Iran. The only chance of getting Iran to back down is if the US (and Europe too) was speaking as one strong voice. The Democrats are either downright stupid, or they really want Bush to not strike and Iran to nuke someone. If someone has another, logical (BF, this leaves you out) explanation for the Democrat's position, I would love to hear it...

"Those that forget history are bound to repeat it," said Woodrow Wilson, our 28th president.

Wait, what's this, logic from BF??!! Well, that assumes you are referring to the most important history lesson of the twentieth century; the world needs to stand united against world leaders chomping at the bit to kill millions of Jews, right?

Right, but we cannot do it alone. That's was the mistake made by this administration. Arrogance will not lead to victory.

Pr 16:18 ¶ Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

In the story of Nebuchadnezzar we see that pride, mingled with jealousy and a proud spirit can produce a potent cocktail able to reduce even the greatest of kings to a bestial demeanor.

We cannot do it divided either, that's the point of the original post. So, how in the world are the other countries of the world going to stand with us when the Democrats only motivation is to oppose Bush? If there is any arrogance being displayed, it is the appeasing Democrats who refuse to learn the lessons of history...

BTW, I'm still waiting on a logical explanation of the Democrat's position. ###crickets####
