TitanTiger 21,665
A guy on my team at work and his wife had a baby boy this weekend. However, the doctor's detected a heart issue and ran some tests on Saturday. Turns out that two of the main arteries to his heart are reversed and it has to be corrected. They are up at UAB and has open heart surgery scheduled for today. Also, because he's so young and little, his chest cavity isn't big enough to deal with any swelling that may occur so he'll have to be in a sterile environment for about 24 hours with his chest still open after the surgery is done. Please pray for him and his mom and dad today that everything will go well and the surgery will be a complete success. His name is Aaron.

Good news is, most kids do quite well with this surgery. The long term prognosis is much better than a lot of other congenital heart malformations. This is particular one is called Transposiition of the Great Vessels.

TitanTiger 21,665
Aaron made it through the surgery just fine and he's recovering in NICU and breathing on his own. Keep him in prayer as they'll close his chest tomorrow and he continues to recover in the hospital over the next week. Thanks so much for the prayers thus far.
