Okay. Poll for Republicans ONLY.

Two very simple questions that can be answered Yes or No.

1) Do you trust the Bush Administration's basic competence?

2) Do you defend the Bush Administration chiefly because you're worried over the fate of the GOP in the next election?

Basic Competence on what level? In Foreignh policy and the War, I really question more than half of what they have done. Domesctically, they have done extremely well with the economy, but horrible with spending.

2) Do you defend the Bush Administration chiefly because you're worried over the fate of the GOP in the next election?

I think the GOP gets clear severance with Bush right after the Convention and goes on from there to win.

Depends, like David said, on where you look. Do I think they lied and deceived the American people IRT the war....absolutely not. I've seen and heard too much to ever buy into this. Most reasonable people, when they drop the koolaid glasses and take a look at politicans actions prior to the war, shouldn't buy into it either. This administration has shot itself in the foot several times simply because they couldn't get the basic message out properly to the American people to counter the inane drivel and flat out falsehoods being spewed by the left.

2) Do you defend the Bush Administration chiefly because you're worried over the fate of the GOP in the next election?

No, I defend the troops and my country against attacks from the left more than the administration. I do not like what the left is offering up for leadership. I think we're screwed really, however you decide to look at it. This administration may lack competence in certain areas, but we get no better alternative from the other side of the isle. Regarding the '08 election, I think enough people are scared to death of the image of Hitlary sitting in the White House to keep her from winning. That whole, "Let's chat" attempt at humanizing that socialist was pretty laughable. Unfortunately, the race for the democrats will ultimately come down to her and Obama, and I think the republican candidate will provide a good enough counter to keep either of them from winning.

I just want a politician that remembers why they were elected and who they represent. Too many of these clowns get to DC and forget all about their constituency, and then take a party above all else (country included) mindset. Until the democrats kick the ultra-liberal wing that has the party held hostage right now to the curb, I will not ever vote for them in a national election.

Anybody who uses "Hitlary" really can't be expected to be taken seriously as a thinking adult in a political discussion.

Yeah, maybe I should have called her mother a bad name and I would have come across so much more mature.

Think about it.....it'll come. ;)

If you don't mind being in the same league as those lefties running around saying Bush is Hitler, that's okay with me.

I am not a registered Republican, but have voted mostly Republican lately so I will answer also. I know you asked for a simple Yes or No answer, so here it is as simple as I can put it.

1) Do you trust the Bush Administration's basic competence?

In comparison to alternative of Kerry, absolutely YES!

2) Do you defend the Bush Administration chiefly because you're worried over the fate of the GOP in the next election?

No, because I think the Democrats are already shooting themselves in the foot with Hillary and Obama. I do not think they are elect-able canidates. To be honest, I think Biden would be the best Democratic alternative for "middle of the road" voters like me, but I do not think he has a chance to come out of the primaries. I defend the troops and the fact that it was a group decision to invade Iraq, and we should not cut and run because things are tough. If you remember at the beginning of the war, Iraqis wanted insurance that we would not simply leave like we did the first time. That is what we commited to.

So, you don't recall calling Jonah Goldberg's mother, Lucianne, rotten names? I have witnesses you know.

Not because she's anybody's mother. I did criticize her for her actions. If criticizing mothers for their actions is out, remember Hillary, Boxer and Pelosi are all mothers. Leave them alone. :poke:

But if you really think me calling Lucianne Goldberg "disgusting" or whatever else I may have said, is worse than you comparing someone to Hitler, you need to put down the crack pipe.

TT's argument version 5.86 of "you're stupid". He usually gets there much more quickly.
