Why the long break between primaries?

I mean CRAP...we've had only a few states vote since super tuesday...and haven't had anything in like 10 days.

This is so stupid. It takes way too long to decide a winner. And dragging it out like this keeps senators, and governors away from their jobs campaigning.

Why can't we knock out an entire primary (all 50 states) in a few weeks?

That would be too efficient.

On the flip side, the longer the candidates have to campaign, more information about them comes out.
