AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Tay Waller matched his career-high with 22 points and hit six 3-pointers to lead Auburn to an 85-71 victory over Alabama on Saturday.

DeWayne Reed added 19 points and Korvotney Barber had 18 for the Tigers (11-6, 1-2 Southeastern Conference), who led by as many as 22 points in their first league win.

Rasheem Barrett scored 12 points in the win.

Auburn had been struggling with its outside shot but made 10 of 20 3-pointers against the Crimson Tide (11-6, 1-2). Waller was 6 of 8 from beyond the arc.

Mikhail Torrance led Alabama with 24 points for his second straight career-high off the bench with Ron Steele missing the past two games with a foot injury.

The Tide had cut an early 17-point deficit down to 42-37 with the opening basket of the second half. Then Auburn went on a 19-2 run to turn it into a route.
