Wish I could be as optomistic as you, Tex. But by November I think a slight majority of Americans will be fed up with both the war and the economy, so I'll guess:

Kerry 51%

Bush 48%

Nader 1%

But of course the Electoral College is a separate issue and I'm just praying we'll see a Democrat in the White House...

David & Titan:

Suggested thread to keep up top.

I'll start: Kerry 52.3% Bush 46.5% Nader 1.2%

This could be lively.

Revised:

Kerry 51.2

Bush 46.2

Badnarik 1.4

Nader 1.2

You can revise up until the day before. The thing is, the person who nails it earliest, wins.

i realize we may not want to start this into a regular thread, but when was the last time a candidate received over 50% of the vote?

was it bush1 or reagan in 84?

w/o a 'real' 3rd party candidate this time around, it may happen this election.

while i still don't have a prediction, i have entered into a friendly wager on the outcome of the race.

my buddy is convinced that bush is gonna win EASY.

here are the terms, w.r.t. the popular vote:

if bush tops kerry by 8% or more, he wins a diet cokes.

if bush tops kerry by 12% or more, he wins 2 diet cokes.

if bush's vote total doesn't top Kerry's by 8%, i win a diet coke.

if bush's vote total doesn't top Kerry's by 2%, i win 2 diet cokes.

he's just convinced it's gonna be a BIG W win.

i'm not so sure.

ok...i'm ready, i guess.

i predict bush wins the popular vote, 49.1 to 48.5.

i further predict he loses the election in the EC.

i predict there will be much confusion over 'provisional ballots' in florida and ohio, possibly other states as well, with these 2 states ending up as 'kerry' states.

what do i win if i "win"?
