2017 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Fresh off the deepest postseason run in program history, the Auburn softball team is slated to appear on national television 12 times during the 2017 schedule, the SEC announced Thursday.

The Tigers are set to have six games featured on ESPN2, five on the SEC Network and one on ESPNU through the upcoming campaign.

Included in the major television package will be 22 Auburn home games streamed online via SEC Network+, the online-only branch of the SEC Network.

Auburn’s first nationally-televised contest is also the opening weekend of conference play. The Tigers will take on LSU on the SEC Network, March 11 and 12, at Jane B. Moore Field.

Auburn then will appear on national television in all three duels with Florida March 25-27 in Gainesville, Fla. The opening two tilts will be carried on ESPN2 with the series finale set to take place on the SEC Network.

Next, the Tigers will have the final two games of the Georgia series on April 1 and 2 carried by ESPN2 and the SEC Network, respectively.

Auburn appears on ESPNU for the only time during the regular season when it battles with Ole Miss on Saturday, April 8 on The Plains.

Just eight days later, the Tigers clash with Missouri on ESPN2 in the series finale April 16.

The SEC Network rounds home with a “Bases Loaded” special the final weekend prior to the SEC tournament. The three-hour show will swing through the best moments of seven games featuring every SEC softball team. Auburn is scheduled to face in-state foe Alabama during the coverage on May 5.

The final two games of the Auburn-Alabama series will be carried on ESPN2, May 6 and 7.

For the third year, SEC Network is slated to air every first round and second round game in the SEC Softball Championship May 10 and 11. The semifinals will air on ESPNU on May 12 and the championship on ESPN on May 13.

The Tigers open 2017 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in a doubleheader against Washington and Oklahoma, Feb. 9. Auburn will also take on Nebraska (Feb. 10) and BYU (Feb. 11) in the first weekend of the season.

We are planning on going over to Columbia, TN for the AU vs. UT game on 3/14 then the 3/15 matchup against MTSU in our backyard in Murfreesboro.  Anyone live in TN and want to meet up let me know!!

I plan on watching a lot of the games with my daughter.  She is 7th grader and playing on her middle school team.

As someone posted last night, watching AU sports on TV has been a dispiriting experience lately......Expecting things will change when Coach Myer puts his team on the field in a rematch against Oklahoma.   Should be a terrific tournament....
