Cutcliffe also had a winning conference record while at Ole Miss, Freeze did NOT. Of course, with this information now, it may be a LONG time before Freeze gets an opportunity to be a head coach, unless he drops to a lower division or perhaps even high school like Dubose did. Going to be interesting to watch the rest of this unfold. Cutcliffe went 7-4 and 7-6 with eli as his starting QB before they went 10-3 his senior season. EHHHHHH. AU64 10,122 Posted July 21, 2017 Share Posted July 21, 2017 Everyone should have seen this coming....big mistake by OM is not negotiating something earlier instead of a few weeks before practice gets underway.. The phone call...just another straw on the camel's back.....too many things piling up on them and JMO but bammers had nothing to do with this. Self inflicted stupidity by several of their coaches did it and eventually it all had to land on Freeze's doorstep as the HC. Timing was awful.....but even the timing was an OM thing. ....guys had their heads in the sand if they ever thought they could survive the drip , drip, drip of violations. I've never misdialed and had over a minute of conversation. The implications that this may possibly link to how he got all those great recruits is worth perusing.
