aubiefifty 16,766
Trio of Auburn linemen receive Senior Bowl invites Posted Nov 07, 2019 2-3 minutes Auburn Football Todd Van Emst/AU Athletics The first round of invites for the 2020 Senior Bowl went out this week, and a trio of Auburn linemen were among those to receive ones. Defensive tackle Derrick Brown, defensive end Marlon Davidson and left tackle Prince Tega Wanogho all received invitations to participate in the annual college all-star game/scouting event, which will take place the week of Jan. 25 in Mobile. The the Tigers were among 81 players from 45 different schools to receive invites during the initial round of the selection process. Brown, an expected first-round pick in next year’s NFL Draft, has totaled 37 tackles this season, including eight for a loss and four sacks. He has added a pair of strip-sacks, two fumble recoveries and three pass breakups. The 6-foot-5, 318-pounder has taken home three SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors this season, was named a midseason AP All-American, a semifinalist for the Maxwell and Bednarik Awards and on Thursday was named one of the Outland Trophy National Players of the Month. Davidson, a preseason second-team All-SEC selection, has 34 total tackles this season and leads Auburn with nine tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. He also has three quarterback hurries and a pair of forced fumbles. Like Brown, he has earned SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week three times and has been trying to prove he’s worthy of being a first-round NFL Draft pick. Wanogho was a preseason first-team All-SEC selection along the offensive line and has started eight of nine games at left tackle this season for Auburn, sitting out the Kent State game due to injury before returning against Texas A&M.
