Well, it doesn't reach the level of being a pimp, but it is certainly not appropriate. The trampy girl who thought that was appropriate behavior also bears a good bit of the blame! Our culture has become so immoral that the behavior of both Urban and the girl would be considered mainstream and perfectly fine if it weren't a famous coach. Women scream "misogyny" when it serves the cultural narrative, and then behave like that!

I never said "step up". I have consistently argued for Auburn to pursue excellence, and to hire a coach who will build a juggernaut, not bounce us off the bottom into mediocrity.

There is a good argument for him. He does consistently field championship teams. He generally only hangs around for a few years, but he hires staff that can take over and carry his success forward. And, to my knowledge, has no history of being a pimp.

Let's not use Harsin as our standard. Seek excellence, not just bouncing off the bottom.

Neither Kiffin nor Freeze are good choices for Auburn. Freeze may actually be the better coach, but he's still just Gus .. without the morals. One reason I could see Auburn bringing Freeze in, though, is that he would be easy for the boosters to control. He'll have no grounds to demand autonomy.

Agree! He's not an elite coach, and IMO, he will not "evolve" into an elite coach. Trapping Auburn in a $100M contract a la Jimbo Fisher is a bad idea with a coach whose historical career average per season is 8-4. Auburn can do better, and the Auburn people deserve better!

They oppose "toxic masculinity". Football is the epitome of what they would define as toxic masculinity, 2nd only to what the US military was pre-woke. Football is about the last remaining American meritocracy; if the Ivy's take over football, they'll turn it into woke-ball.

I'm not in the Ryan Day nor Dabo camps. Kiffin is an 8-4 coach on average. We have more than a decade of history to look at for him, and while he has had some good years, he's had more mediocre years. If you saw the OM post, none of Kiffin's SEC wins since 2020 have been against a team that finished better than 5-5 in the SEC. I looked it up, and they are absolutely right! Kiffin is not an "elite" coach. He would get Auburn off the bottom, but he won't get us to the top. He'll get us to mediocrity. That's settling. Freeze's record is slightly better than Kiffin's, but he's immoral and he's a cheater. There has been, to date, no evidence that his heart nor his character has changed, and character matters. So, who are these excellent coaches we are pursuing? I'm genuinely interested!

He's much like Gus .. he'll win some games that, on paper, he has no chance. Then, he'll turn around and lose games he should absolutely win! Liberty beat Arky, then turned around and lost to UConn. 🤷‍♀️ Much as beating Bama is high on my list, it's not the only measuring stick for our coach. It saddens me that Auburn has settled for 2nd best, and believing we deserve less than AUsomeness!

They are not mutually exclusive. Sadly, his coaching failures were many and obvious.
