How about no since they are "student athletes." I was a "student athlete" in high high school and had to pay the same "fees" just like all the other students. Why not Collage? Take away the scholarships and make them pay just like every student that is not an athlete. I didn't have to play ball in high school, I wanted to. and they don't have to play ball in collage. A free ride in collage, and then getting paid also just because they play ball?!!!

That's only IF YOU LIVE ON BASE, AND THERE WAS NO other pay outside of my rank. I sure didn't receive "The THOUSANDS" you are talking about(where does that come from?), neither did my son when we served in The U.S.Navy.

My son is a Policeman. I know what he makes(I've tried to get him to leave that profession).Not near enough for what his job requires this day and time. Law enforcement, firemen, EMT's etc wages can't even be compared to what a pro athlete makes these days.

They are getting that...A free education! Maybe a simple solution would be to stop awarding scholarships to athletes then see how THEIR self-promotion goes. Make them "PAY" the price just like a regular student.

Yeah Mikey same boat, except Pruitt's has 5 holes and Malfunctions's has 2(that ought not to be there!) and all Gus does to try to "Patch the holes" is with GT's. And you are probably right about him going nowhere this year because PTB don't want to "pony up" the dough that it would take to "Patch the holes". Malzhan's recruiting is pathetic alone the trenches, and that is where close games are won, in the trenches. Not to mention the undersized LB's and running backs, along with the under-development of QB's, etc...

Maybe because Gustav is in the same boat?

Seems like there has been a lot of that in the past few years(espically in regards to the OL). Sounds like Gus needs to get a new evaluator of talent.
