  1. What's the difference between winning or losing in orange, or blue jerseys? Now, I was not a fan of Barfield, but I did like those orange jerseys back then. And by the way, I'M old, Jimmy Sidle and Tucker Fredrickson old if that gives you young'uns any idea...LOL!
  2. Auburn can get a good coach. It's just a matter of the PTB and the administration coming together as a whole(just as the turds did years ago when they hired the nikster, and tired of losing with middle-of-the road coaches). There are good coaches out there that KNOW how to coach and RECRUIT that will come to the Plains. Auburn is not Texas Tech, Kansas State, or Colorado, etc. It's been done and proven in the past, and it can be done NOW(just like it's being done in West Vance now). JMHO.
  3. With all things said; we still need a QB. To me, QB play was no better than last week.
  4. And they may not with that smart a__ sourpuss coach they got. He's not in the Sun Belt anymore.
  5. The talent is strong with the leghumpers.
  6. IF, and I do mean IF Harsin has a good season this year, it wouldn't surprise me at all if Nebraska came calling that he would bolt to huskerville in a heartbeat, because I don't think that Frosty is going to make it through the whole season this year. Jeff Grimes would be a good replacement. Someone who could recruit down south and coach also. Would surround himself with good assistants that could also recruit(Especially OLinemen).
  7. Thanks Fifty. Didn't know that. Still, I never cared for Ole Neil anyway...Don't need him around anyhow...
  8. Yeah, he's a regular ole Neil Young singing "Southern Man"....
  9. There's never been a love loss between nobby top and Auburn anyway.
  10. 5-7 or 6-6 at best. O-line and Lb's will be the key this year, especially the O-Line. Just don't see them being much better than last year.
  11. Play for pay. It's np longer an amateur sport. So what's in it for me a young person might say? Does a college education mean anything to them, or is it just the play for pay now? What's a scholarship worth to those making thousands or millions playing ball? There was a time when a scholarship really meant something...an education, and making a living building for one's future. Seems like all that is by the wayside as long as "I get paid to play." Can't play ball forever hoss fly. 35-40 and your usually washed up by then. At 35 or 40 at the most there is still a whole lot of living to do. What you gonna do when all that "pay for play" runs out? The scholarship was wasted for most...
  12. Yeah, throw him out at U Kansas, or in Lubbock at T Tech, maybe at Oregon State and see just how many championships the little turd wins there!(He never won one at Michigan State because he didn't have the "cajun mafia" or the "rectal elephant club" to do his "dirty work")
  13. You are so right(as one old time coach used to say),Carl
  14. And he should have to pay his way with that kind of money rolling in! They all should that have gotten outrageous NIL money deals.
  15. I think most fans and supporters were sure that Vince Dooley was coming home. Some supporters did want Paul Davis. Hiring Barfield was a shock to the Auburn nation at that time. Barfield's biggest mistake was not firing P.W.(Bear)Underwood as DC simply because P.W. was his good friend. And a lot of folks was upset that Barfield didn't keep-hire Davis as His DC. Underwood was absolutely a horrible DC. To me, Barfield chose his friendship with Underwood over the good of the team at that time.
  16. I believe this is about on spot for this year.
  17. I seriously doubt if Finley could win the starting job at North Alabama. Slow, awkward, poor footwork. If there isn't a QB on the roster that is a better performer than Finley, Harsin will be in a world of hurt this season, especially with the O Line this year.
  18. 69 iron Bowl Legion Field. Connie Fredrick runs a fake punt from Auburn's 1yard line in for their final TD. Beautiful!
  19. I'm thinking the same way on this statement because: High school coaches and players are probably doubting if Harsin is even going to still be the coach on the Plains in the next year, or even two years from now. Good position coaches with experience are going to be difficult to hire. And folks, the way I believe it to be right at this moment from all that has happened since the 5 game losing streak, Harsin is a lame-duck coach in waiting on The Plains. Now with that said, I'm hoping that Harsin can bring some stability to the program and to where we all want it to be, but that is going to be a difficult thing to do in my opinion from where Harsin is concerned right now.
