  1. If only Grayson McCall would've gone to class.
  2. This is my biggest concern with the 1st half. When Throne has had time...nobody is open.
  3. It wasn't crisp today for them. They found a way to win today...just like we have to. Nebraska's defense showed up and created problems for them until they were on the field way too much.
  4. Dang some of you are already throwing out Gus 2.0. Geesh. I didn't like the call but we're simply not executing on offense. WRs, OL and QB. Guys just need to settle down.
  5. I think we win a close game. This win will be huge in our growth going forward this season. I didn't think this was going to be easy like many thought.
  6. I see how our RBs were killing it in Spring camp
  7. I love it! CFH has had to do a complete rebuild of our football program. Just a part of the process. I like that he's actually holding ALL players to a high standard. It should always be that way if we want to compete for national championships in the future.
  8. It was nice today in Southeast Alabama visiting family. Next week is looking very toasty though!
  9. Yeah, there seemed to be a good indication that he took the news well. Just pointing out that if there’s a chance that he didn’t at the time, the fans didn’t know because of how Kodi presented himself so well. Just using it as example of how he stayed focused and dedicated and was able to contribute. It can play out similar for Robby.
  10. The major difference is that a coach didn't have to publicly have to make Kodi aware of maintaining a positive attitude and leadership on numerous occasions. Who knows how Kodi took it when he was informed but if he infuriated or contemplated leaving or quitting...the public didn't know. And we shouldn't know. Kodi presented himself well and he became a big key to providing leadership to the WRs and helpings us win a national championship. I'm glad to hear that Robby had a good practice despite the news getting out that he wasn't the starter. But the wording of CHF comes across as he is indeed speaking to all the QBs and specifically Robby. As a leader and a QB, you have to block out the outside noise. That's something Robby has struggled with. Thus, CHF appears to have made it a point to remind Robby of that and stay the course of improving.
  11. I hope he handles it right and he did yesterday The fact that CHF keeps referencing this statement in regards to Robby is a little concerning. He stated it twice in the press conference yesterday. I like how straightforward CHF is. Hopefully, Robby can handle this situation because who knows how the season is going to play out. Hugh had to play 4 QBs last year at Liberty.
  12. But Hugh said in his presser that only 4 people knew.
  13. Just got this alert from theScore. Let's GO!
  14. Along with his inconsistency, his turnovers are still a major concern for me. And we will not know if he is improved in that area until it's a live game situation...the fumbles and INTs. That's why I'm a strong advocate for Payton or Holden. Granted Holden is a major unknown but I just love the thought of having a QB that can accurately pass the ball. I know many get enamored with QBs that are a running threat (because 2 led us to a championship doing so) but I think in modern-day football offenses, QBs have to show they can hit passes when needed. A QB that can move around a little but is accurate. I just don't have a lot of faith at this point in Robby when it's 3rd down and we're in a passing situation. But I'll certainly trust Hugh if that's who he goes with. Because I know he'll have no issue putting in the next guy if his initial evaluation of the starter chosen isn't progressing.
  15. I simply don't want to see it. Maybe it's because AU previous coaches have "hyped" this type of role before the season so much and nothing worthwhile has come from the hype. But I prefer to have a starter, let them get a rhythm, and scheme the offense up. I just don't think Robbie is going to be a consistent enough passer to utilize the improved talent we have on offense. And I have no interest of seeing QBs going in and out of the game. If the OL and WR positions are much improved, then we should be to utilize our skilled players. We don't need Payton to be heroic, just make solid throws, play smart, and don't turn the ball over.
  16. BINGO! Saban wants to drop Tenn or LSU...particularly LSU as you've stated for an easier opponent. My first choice would be the 3 - 6 model. What makes the SEC the best is the rivalries. Plus with 3 - 6 we'd get to visit every stadium in the SEC and it doesn't take 10 years to do so. When was the last time UGA played at Texas A&M? When was the last time Florida played at Auburn? Bama traveled to UGA? What's the point of delaying going to 9?
  17. And great for the local economy. It's essentially become a tourist attraction that benefits other businesses. Plus for a gas station, they pay very well and have great benefits.
  18. That and guard play. UConn has always been my team (grew up watching Big East). Each time we've won the title...it's been due to guard play. It's the reason why Miami and SDST went on a deep run this year. But UConn was younger than both squads. Need guys that can hit shots. Hopefully, our guard play improves.
  19. Good! Now get him the ball more. We should be playing through Broome more. Didn't do that enough last year.
  20. You're right. It's good to get it ALL out. lol. I just hate that the subject has to be revisited. Harsin gets to tell his side...fine. But as a "journalist" why not follow up with some of his claims. I'm sure it wouldn't have been hard to get unnamed quotes from former coaches, players and recruits on their dealings with Harsin. But I guess once again asking someone to perform their job well is asking too much. Harsin just needs to enjoy his free money and everyone can move on.
  21. And that's my issue. No we shouldn't have hired him but nothing we could do about that. However, was hired to perform a job and he didn't even do the essentials required. It's a bad hire on our part but I think it is more detrimental to Harsin than AU. He was given the keys to a Power 5 program and used every excuse not to do what he was hired to do. This is even before we mistreated him.
  22. We should have not crossed the line when it comes to Harsin's family. However, why didn't Harsin do his due diligence before accepting the job? IMO it supports many people's opinion that he didn't give 2 ISH about AU and was in over his head. I don't agree with the tactic but it came AFTER seeing that he had zero interest in recruiting and being called out by players. He didn't take enough accountability in regards to the specifics that he was able to control during his time here. Be specific! You were a lazy azz coach that didn't recruit and had limited connections with his players! Harsin should've had the same drive and attitude that Hugh has when it comes to being the HC at AU. An interim coach with less than 4 years of college coaching experience outperformed Harsin. And if it was all AU's fault, why hasn't he found a new job yet? I'm just happy we pulled the plug on him. At times, it seems like we're a pretty split fanbase but the day Harsin was fired I couldn't find not one AU fan who wasn't rejoicing! All of a sudden when we have recruiting momentum he wants to speak on his time at AU. He got his money so let's just all move on.
  23. Agree. An investigation will determine that but to be on the safe side it is best to suspend him until it's sorted out. If it turns out he was in the wrong, it can not be said that AU didn't treat the matter seriously. Unfortunate, but I think it's the right approach.
