  1. I think On3 is the only service that has him as a 4-star now. He's a 5-star in the 247Composite rankings.
  2. @bigbirdThis guy was your #1 want at receiver, wasn't he? Wait, no, it's the UTSA receiver I'm thinking about, not the UNT receiver. Oh well, at least it looks like we'll be getting a couple more solid wideouts to work in.
  3. So you really think there is zero chance that LSU loses an SEC game to anyone besides Alabama? I will wholeheartedly agree that it's more likely LSU wins the West for the reason you stated, but they still gotta go through that schedule and win all those games, and I could see them stumbling against someone besides Alabama, setting up the possibility that we're 9-2 against a 10-1 Bama team that beat a 2 loss LSU team and us winning the Iron Bowl makes it come down to tiebreakers, like Bird said. It's not a far-fetched scenario.
  4. Honestly, I think we could win the West. It's an outside shot, to be sure, but I could see the West being decided by the Iron Bowl, and Saban doesn't have the best track record against good Auburn teams. However, I will be perfectly content with 8 wins, and I won't complain too much unless we miss bowl season again.
  5. Oh, I know, I'd seen that listing, too, I was just commenting that I don't know how legitimate it is.
  6. I'm a bit incredulous about that, but then I guess he's about 17, so it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that he grew a couple of inches since his last height check. Kinda crazy that we've now signed a 5-star in four consecutive years, and the year before that, we signed Isaac Okoro, who was just outside of the 5-star category.
  7. So at the moment, all we're looking for in basketball is a starting 3? Is Dylan likely to stick around, or is he likely transferring to Ole Miss and we'll need to find another backup center?
  8. Is he more likely to start at the 3 or be backup at 3 and 4 with the starting 3 yet to be named?
  9. Perhaps not in those words, but had we (Auburn) and Harsin endeared ourselves to one another, I feel confident he would express fondness for the program. The problem is that he was just never the right fit. But he's gone. I think we should wish him well and move on. Just my two cents.
  10. I've got a feeling he's going to be remembered in the same light as Doug Barfield. Gus didn't coach as long as Shug, but had a similar path on a shorter scale, and Freeze has turned up the fire on recruiting in much the same way Pat Dye did as Barfield's successor. Hopefully, he'll have similar on-field success, as well.
  11. I doubt it, but then he didn't have the kind of success Gus did while at Auburn to have felt the love of the fan base the same way, so it's not exactly the same situation.
  12. Okay, so his time in Memphis was at a private school, not like he had some kind of deal and had to transfer from UMemphis to a JUCO. That makes a heck of a lot more sense. With his size, if his game projects well to the SEC, would he be likely to leave after just one season, or might we get 2 years out of him? I'd really rather he stay two years and then go in the first round, but somehow I gotta believe if he's going to go in the first round in two years, he's probably going in the first round in a year, too, and if he has a first-round draft grade, he'd be crazy *not* to go...
  13. Well, here's hoping he and Bruce are completely on the same page going forward, then; don't want any friction!
  14. That is my understanding as well. KD seems to really love Auburn and loves just being a part of it all. And he's great entertainment on the court, too!
  15. I know nothing about Ole Miss, I was talking about Allen and Auburn as the two sides that would each benefit.
  16. I have no insider knowledge, but reading between the lines, I think maybe there was some building friction that was unhealthy for the team atmosphere going forward, and simply bringing in a similarly gifted 3 (as opposed to a more gifted one, which seems to be what we're ultimately aiming for) will do a great deal as far as the overall team chemistry element is concerned. However, truthfully, this is all just speculation, because those who know aren't saying, and at this point, there's so much that could potentially change that what you "know" now might not be valid in 24 hours. That's life in the big city.
  17. That seems to be where all the smart money is going.
  18. I know you post elsewhere, but you seem more authoritative in your assertions with the round ball. And it does make sense, given that would seem to be most of the knowledge there to be picked up in Sportstown, Kansas... unless you're talking about Pat Mahomes' hair, of course. Okay, maybe geography shouldn't be a factor in my respects for the knowledge of others, especially considering how little some of these dumbass bammers around here know (even about their own damned team), but you've impressed me as having more knowledge than the average AU fan, especially those of us who didn't start paying attention until Bruce showed up. Not exactly a badge you can wear or anything, but verbal recognition at least. I do really hope we don't end up with Tre Donaldson as our best option at point. Don't get me wrong, I love Tre, and if he can learn to play defense, he's got starter potential I think, but he ain't there yet. With E informing me of Aden Holloway's lack of experience running the point, that seems like a pretty big concern...and the more I think about it, the less I see Bruce not bringing in at least a stopgap, if for no other reason than to not have our 3 man running point because something went wrong with the freshman's eligibility and there's nobody else there, like we did three seasons ago.
  19. Okay, now that I didn't know, and it puts a whole new spin on things. I *was* counting on getting at least adequate PG play because I thought Aden was a natural point (who had been playing the position most of his life) who, barring injury, would likely pick up the position quickly enough and well enough to not need Tre to do much more than play the backup. I have a question about how the rotation will work, but it's probably better answered on the other thread I brought it up on.
  20. Since we now have Jones, what are the odds that we would take Olivary *and* Oq? Because if we take just Olivari, that leaves us with a 1-2, whereas with Oq, he'd be a 2-3. I asked essentially this in another thread, but if we got OlivarI, would he and/or Jones maybe play the 3 some as a "big guard"?
