No weak leadership from Harsin. That I can tell you.

Say one thing about Steele and staff that isn’t all great. IMO they did pretty much just cruise and give up last year. Ride the ride and collect the cash. Some could have read it as a coup attempt. Steele just wasn’t that type of guy to do that to anyone. But their effort last year had quit all over it.

Only thing I know that happened like this was Chip and Gus. But Chip was ready to resign mid season and Gus talked him out of it. Gus wasn’t one for confrontations and would walk away from any kind of those problems. Just ignore and hope they go away.

Steele wanted the job. But the whole coup thing was silly really. Only reason Gus wasn’t just run out of town like the POS he is was because of Steele’s defense.

The way it’s told to me was Steele was asked to put a list together of what he’d need if Gus was fired during the season back in 19 I believe. By folks who paid him. He did. All of the back stabbing stuff is false. This thing was spiraling out of control. But nothing happened because of the lack of leadership from the top. With Gus.

I don't know everything. But I am a very honored guy to know some of the people I do. So I get info on quite a bit. The stuff I do know to be very correct, I'll put here. Like the Steele coaching stuff. The Bill Clark turned AU down stuff. Lot of the Gus stuff. You get bit and pieces from several people and you can put the puzzle together. I'm no where as plugged in as I was 6 to 10 years ago. Gus took a toll on a lot of the people I know and they are pretty much done now. Hope to get some of these guys back. People had no idea how bad it was and got. Thank God for Steele and his bunch. Steele isn't the bad guy that he is portrayed to be. He was asked to do a job and he did it with class and integrity. Not so much on the other side.

I agree with this. All this about Greene, Bruce and the cash really caught me off-guard. I had no idea it was that bad. Start asking and then find out. I'll be honest, I though everything was going pretty good. I did know that Harsin was a little upset about the funds. Bruce and the others? Had really no idea till all this started to trickle out.

Ex-coach helped pay for? Gus didn't give AU the money he promised. At least I was told he didn't. And Gus damn sure didn't help raise any of the funds. Like Greene or not but Greene was raising that money and doing a pretty good job at it. As far as Harsin just getting here and has nothing to gripe about. Might want to ask around. You might find a different answer here. Those funds that Bruce and Butch were upset about also hit the football program. Just getting here has nothing to do with anything now.

Can we just put the Steele getting the AU job stuff to bed. I can tell you with 99.999999999999% certain he was never a legit option to get the job. Nothing is ever 100% in life but my 99.99999999999999999% is as close as it can come. Greene wanted Gus gone. But Greene didn't have the power to fire him.

They beat our ass 42-13 last year. About time we have someone step up and get this team motivated.

Don't think Harsin is trying to distance himself from anyone. Think he is just as puzzled as everyone else and just wants the necessary backing to run his football program as needed.

IMO, this isn't going to be resolved. It's gone too far. No boogy mans here. This is all on Alan. I think I've said this here, if not I'll say this again. One of the most bizarre things I've ever seen at AU, ever. It's really hard to wrap your head around this.

Lot of truth here with Greene and the cuts and being held accountable. Lot of breakdowns on all levels here. But making promises and then backing off them, not returning phone calls or having meetings about this, is where Greene has gone wrong. That is why Greene is going to be gone. Why he did that, the way he did? Only Greene knows.

Do people here still believe anything that PM writes? I'm being serious here. Greene wanted Gus gone. People can say what they want about this but I'm telling you I know this to be true. Greene didn't have the authority to fire Gus, not with the money involved. That was all Gouge. As far as the Chuck Person ordeal? Being on the peripheral? Yeah, that had gotten to a University President level problem pretty quick. You had the Feds involved. Wow at all of that. As far as hiring Harsin, yeah Greene got the green light from Gouge. But that again happens everywhere. Of course the president OK'd it. Soemoen here please tell me one AD that has complete control of the athletic dept at any school?

Only coaches you care about are Bruce and Butch? You folks better get behind Harsin if you want all of the upgrades done that are needed. Basketball is all good and all, it don't pay the bills. Baseball loses money. AT AU. Football is the and will always be the big dog.

Was this ever even a question here? Hell yes Gouge made that call. With the BOT's approval. With that amount of cash. No AD in the United States of America could have made that call.

Come one guys. Steele was never a real candidate to get the AU job. Never. Maybe a money guy or two went to bat for their friend, but that was it. The folks making the decisions never considered Steele a real candidate. Most here really think Bill Clark turned down the AU job. When he never talked to anyone at AU. Napier? Never got an offer. This isn't some high conspiracy deal going on at AU with some huge power struggle. Folks need to calm down. This is about an AD who has pissed off some high profile, maybe the 2nd and one could argue he is the #1 most popular all time, coaches at AU. One of his own doing. This isn't some power grab by the "old guard". Come to grips here people. Jimmy, the boggy man, Rane got to Bruce and turned him on Greene? Come on people. People are like a lot of hungry fish in a small pond here and are being caught at a record rate with some of this.

As in fine now, I do believe he is getting what he wants. Told he is anyways.

Most of the first part has been known for a while. Years old stuff. The new stuff is bizarre. To my knowledge Peral is just fine now.

Why? No idea. How, just all the constraints and lack of attention to the basketball program. Promises not followed thru. I don't know much about the inner workings here, I'm not a basketball guy. Just the talk I've heard.

You can't bring in an AD and handcuff him. It's the reason the bigger names weren't interested in the AD job back when Greene was hired. "Come in and fix the financial woes" , then when Greene presented his plan to do this, was told he couldn't do some of the things he, Greene, thought was needed. (Fire people like Tim Jackson and others who are worthless). It was a train wreak. Now that Leath is gone and some of the "boys" have been exposed this should have changed. But Greene went down and pisses off his guys in the department. Why? It's really just mind numbing. Alienate the most popular coach since Pat Dye, one you went to bat for and help keep his job. It's beyond comprehension. Myself, I caulk this up to ego. Greene has a big one.

So in reality Gus made the call and Chiz OK's the call. Same as the Kick Six. Happens multiple times a game.

Cam was special. Just something about Nick that had me in awe. You would hold your breath ever time he had the ball in his hands. 2013 was my favorite season, beside 2010, that I had since I'd say 1993. Loved 2004 but that 2013 year was amazing. 1993 UF game was one of the most amazing football games I've ever seen in person. Something about that whole day. The fog rolling in, the game, the atmosphere. Unreal.
