  1. Big pull may = Big say, but that Big say doesn't always = Good ideas
  2. Just to address some of the flawed logic on this thread: 1) "Every school has boosters. They aren't better or worse at Auburn than they are anywhere else." Yes, every school has them, but not all schools are equal and not all boosters are equal. Auburn boosters have played a visible role in exerting their influence in the past. While they may do so at other schools, it often isn't as visible. The visibility itself is problematic, as it feeds the perception in the college football world. Perception of booster influence matters, whether it's overstated or not. 2) "They don't meddle in other programs." Yeah, because there's not as much passion or money in those programs as the football program. The boosters don't care about the equestrian program as much as the football program for many of the same reasons as the fans. They also have more of a financial incentive to invest in the football program than the other athletic programs. Even with the recent success of our basketball program, it's not a stretch to say that it pales in comparison to the money made by the football program. 3) One thing not often understood with CEOs and corporate oligarchs is that they aren't usually selected for their ability in the industry that their company resides in, but rather for political reasons and the ability to generate profits for the shareholders. Their ability to do so in their companies doesn't directly transfer to understanding the right direction for a football program. We often mistake competence in one field for competence in every field. I think we're also projecting our own personality and values onto these boosters, thinking they wouldn't vandalize the football program for their own interests. Studies have shown that a disproportionate amount of CEOs are sociopaths. TLDR: The boosters have tremendous ability and incentive to throw their weight around with the football program. They may sabotage it—intentionally or unintentionally—and there is clear evidence of this occurring in the past. How much were they involved in this? Difficult to say, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had some impact on this fiasco. Not to detract from Harsin's role, cause that guys sucks, but there were other personalities involved in this. His actions didn't occur in a vacuum.
  3. Every five star in the country will want to come smoke doobies in the locker room with Snoop Dogg if we hire Deion! Dude pulled the number one recruit in the nation to Jackson State. IMO, he's clearly the best candidate. Unfortunately, our boosters and administration are too obstinate to pick someone that's so outside the norm of Auburn. #JABA4LYFE
  4. Thank you, Tennessee! You give me hope as an Auburn fan! If someone can turn around the dumpster inferno at Tennessee, then it can happen at Auburn!
  5. Slightly less disappointment than the rest of us lol
  6. Hopefully the lessons from this loss resonate going forward. We need to play better as a team, especially on the road. Refs were garbage, but they didn't lose this for us.
  7. Hey, no matter what happens, still undefeated in regulation!
  8. Hopefully Pearl's commitment to substitutions pays off with fresher legs in OT
  9. I'm just glad I don't have to make any new coaching search memes since I created plenty back in December of 2020.
  10. If we're at a place where we can't even get Kevin Steele, then we're even more screwed than I thought.
  11. I agree that an elite coach could turn things around, but those who hold the purse strings don't seem care about that (hence Kevin Steele), and I don't even know if an elite coach would come here, no matter how much money is offered.
  12. Sad reality: No matter how this plays out, it is highly likely that the football program will be in the toilet for a very long time. If Harsin is retained, recruits and assistant coaches will steer clear. If Harsin is fired, no decent coach will want to come coach in a place where there was a coup against one coach and a possible coup against his predecessor*. This could be a potential strike three by the PTB on backstabbing a coach (Tubberville > Gus > Harsin). *Pending the validity of the PTB rumors
  13. Never in my life did I think I would hear fans from an opposing school chant, "Overrated!" at Auburn's basketball team. We've truly arrived lol.
  14. Green has more moves than a case full of Ex-Lax
  15. UK is pressing us at full and half court. That's thrown us out of whack. We need to adapt.
  16. It's amazing how much talent came through here under Gus and was completely wasted. It's also amazing how much OL talent never came through. Either he couldn't acquire the talent, or he'd waste what he got.
  17. Lived in GA for 13 years. I'd cheer for Joseph Stalin before I'd cheer for Bama.
  18. I truly hope so. On paper, they should be beaten quite handedly.
  19. Oh, trust me... I understand that, but if there's any team in America that's lucky enough for this to happen, it's UAT.
  20. I worry about the results of this game because even if Bama loses today they may still be able to get into the CFP as a 2-loss team, which would be infuriating.
  21. He will get the best out of his players. My only question is, "What kind of players will those be?" In other words, all we need to see to be completely sold on him is how good he'll recruit.
