  1. Devon was a very good SG, but we need another SG to compliment him. As to PG, Pettiford might be what we need but we thought Aden was the answer getting a proven PG is the right way to go. We also need a complimentary 4 and a 5 who is capable of being a starter if Broome does not return.
  2. Want to wish all a Happy Easter. May you and your family receive the Lord's blessing's on this wondrous day.
  3. Great news Congratulation.
  4. Please don't make this your last post. You are a great part of this site.
  5. I believe Auburn was his first choice, but the NIL money at A&M was to good to pass up until Jimbo got fired.
  6. The Portal was good to us this year all three were solid contributors who got better as the year progressed. Denver was brought in to add a SG who could hit the 3. At the beginning of the year he surprised us with how good his Defense was but his scoring was not there he started out poorly shooting the three, and while he beat his man of the dribble he missed to many shots inside. As the year went on his shot improved in last part of the year he was our best outside soring threat both from the three and pull up shots for 2, while continuing be a really good defender and he has a really good handle. Chaney did not start out that well either partly because he was playing behind Jaylin and partly he initially had trouble adjusting to the better competition in the SEC. He really started to show signs before Jaylin got hurt and then came through big in the game where Jaylin was out. A solid defender, rim protector and was a good rebounder based on rebounds per minutes played. The more he played the better he got. CBM was good from day one tremendous hustle on both offense and defense, long arms impacted passing lanes, hit 3's, scored at the rim, had a solid handle. He was energy personified, Like Denver he could create his own shot. He was 45% shooter around 41% on threes. Assuming they stay I expect all of them to be improved. I am hoping that the portal will be at least as good to us as in the past few years with players like these plus Kessler and Broome.
  7. Yes it does. NIL has changed the game and more players are changing after commitment, but great majority stay with original commitment. So it is still better to get a commitment then trying to get a player to switch.
  8. Fearless, energetic and when playing under control a major asset. He could really fire up the Jungle which is one of the reasons the Jungle was such as asset. At time the energy was out of control, he jacked up stupid shots, and sometimes his fearlessness caused turnovers when he went among the trees. I lved KD and this year there was lot more of the good KD then the bad KD. He will be missed and I hope he finds a great team and soes well next year. His leaving will give us another scholarship that we can use in the portal. Ideally we need a big who can play both 4 and 5 that is assuming Cardwell comes back and Broome doesn't. We also need a bigger PG who can score and play defense and another SG similar to Denver Jones.
  9. We all know CBM lost his cool and made a mistake, it happens and he will have to deal with it. Now look what he brought to this team. He played about 21 minutes a game averaged 10 points a game, shot 45% from the field, shot 41% on 3 pointers, 3.7 boards a game, 2.2 assists, 1/2 blocks a game and was a strong defender. In addition to on court performance he was a team leader as seen when he took over half time meeting and kicked team into a great second half in a game we needed during the regular season. Like KD he is instant energy when he arrives but unlike KD, we usually don't have to pray for the good CBM versus the bad CBM. KD has won us more games then he has lost us but at times when the bad KD is on the court he has really hurt us. Yes, CBM a few times has gotten into issues with other teams players and refs but in all those games when that occurred except Yale he has fired up Auburn and used the issue to up his game and help us. I hope that he does not think about tranferring because to many fans jump down his throat. Fans who have never played the game don't understand how sometimes in the heat of the moment you do something you wish you hadn't. Some of the greatest basketball players who have played the game have been ejected and all have gotten technical fouls more than once. He plays on edge and that is ok but he does need to work on controlling his temper. We can't afford to lose him as he can score in multiple ways, the 3 point shot, driving to the rim and he is one of the few players on our team who can create his own shot. All that plus playing defense, boarding and constant hustle.
  10. Remember he had one who got bad advice and went pro after one year he would have been with Kessler and Smith. Another looked like a lock then went to G-league. This year we had to do a rebuild he brought in CBM, Chaney, and Denver who we all good pickups and based on how Aden played in HS and on select teams he looked like a lock who so far has not developed. Denver has a sweet shot, has gotten better as year went and plays solid D. So this year he brought in good SG and what most scouts thought was a great PG. He has pettiford coming in next year.
  11. If it had been to the head it would have been an automatic flagrant 2, since it was to chest it was at the ref's discretion some would have done as a 2 and some as a 1. He put himself in that position and I can't disagree with the call.
  12. CBM is a highly motivated who wants to do his best and because of that he makes great plays offensively and defensively. That is also the reason he pushes so hard and makes boneheaded plays. I wish he hadn't retaliated in the way he did, but I can't change what was done. My hope is he reflects on the impact and adjust his game a little without losing the all out effort he always gives. For those who are blaming him for the loss we had enough talent to win without him but missed free throws, dumb fouls, and bad decisions with the ball in last 5 minutes is why we lost. I am sure he is being harder on himself than a select few of our fan base as that is the type of person he is.
  13. I have no idea how good or bad the QB's have been this spring. So much of practice is behind closed doors most of the comments are based on little actual knowledge. Even if one shines in spring game will that be reflection of how good QB is or which defense he was playing against. To me it is a little humorous that so many fans with limited information seem to think they know so much. This comment is in general not directed at any particular poster.
  14. I was in church so did not see game but recorded it. We didn't do enough to win. Broome was fouled so many times with no whistles it was rediculous. I can understand CBM getting ejected because he loaded up and delivered. That said the Yale player he nailed should have had a flagrant one for shot to CMB when running down court just before CBM retaliated. We lost because of poor foul shooting down the stretch and some stupid plays down the stretch.
  15. Assuming they sign that is 3 O-line in this class so far.
  16. No way Oakland can keep hitting so many 3's. Many were contested but I expect depth and size will slowly allow Ky to pull ahead.
  17. I love Cardwell and expect him to be a little bit better next year but unless he can find some offense other than cut to basket/dunk, rebound/dunk, beat other big down floor/dunk. His ceiling will be his great energy, defense, and rebounding which could be enough with right scorers around him. That said I want another big.
  18. 4 games and our depth they probably are a little tired. Now take our time score and run out the clock.
  19. Awful start but back to original 8 point lead.
  20. Not getting ball inside to Broome when we did and they double teamed we get an easy basket. Need to get good shots and play like 1st half on the boards.
  21. I don't understand our fan base at times. He seems to be leaning to Auburn but has not pulled the trigger which seems to have upset some fans. He has done nothing wrong. He is just exploring his options. I hope he signs with us but if not we will get another rb.
  22. Aden needs to hit the gym and get stronger. In second half of the year he got much better on D. He will never be thick but he can get a lot stronger. With more strength and his stroke it will help when they play him physical he will be able to beat the physical D and then hit open shots that he creates. I expect a much better player next year.
  23. This was a team win. 5 players in double figures and 8 players scored. Jaylin did not have a great game but still scored 13 and hit 4 key free throws in crunch time. Who may have been most important player was Cardwell playing great D in 1st half when Broome was in foul trouble then when Miss. State made run in 2nd half and cut to 1 point lead he came in made some great Defensive plays and two dunks to open lead back to 5.
  24. I was hoping he would jamb and the guard would foul him.
