  1. We've had this discussion in multiple threads. You forget every time. So if you recall seeing that thread and can retain information "the point" is revealed. 10,000 troops prevent the breach of the Capitol.
  2. Virtually all Democrats (93%) say Biden won the election fairly, a view shared by 58% of independents. Just 21% of Republicans believe Biden won his election fair and square, while 68% say he won "due to voter fraud."
  3. Hate has been ratcheting up in this country for a decade. No, it's not just Columbia. I'm glad some are finally recognizing it.
  4. Two things: This mental nut job has no business in any serious medium. I'm not surprised it was allowed to reside here.
  5. There has been an abundance of similar behavior over the last decade. I'm not a fan.
  6. You seem to be quite confused. I've not advocated that deterrence is more important than punishing criminal activity. However, it seems logical to understand one can prevent the other. Perhaps on Pluto, this isn't the case?
  7. I agree. I agree. I presume because he was told it was handled. But admittedly, I haven't asked him.
  8. Based on previously published articles it was dissatisfaction with the election results, i.e. a belief it was stolen, and strong support for Trump.
  9. Irrelevant. We knew there would be large crowds, which is unusual for this event, and more importantly, had intelligence indicating problematic activity.
  10. I am not aware of anyone being forced into the capitol on J6. Bad choices were made, some worse than others, and those found guilty were or will be punished. The point should have been clear, but I'll reiterate. 10,000 troops in riot gear could have prevented the Capitol breach.
  11. You had officials, politicians, media, etc. repeating talking points that Trump never ordered troops. That was simply an effort to shield folks from accountability for security failures. We have testimony from the J3 meeting where Trump offered the troops and was told by Miller, "We have it covered" which we now know was incorrect, but also sheds light on why the troops weren't ordered. The offer was turned down. The "narrative" is quite simple: 10,000 troops with riot gear and no "insurrection/riot" occurs on J6. Skirmishes and arrests happen with crowds of that size, but not remotely at the same level when adequate planning and security measures are in place. I think it's important to note by the day's end J6 over 7500 troops had been ordered.
  12. Are you seriously asking me to give you a definition of offered vs ordered? We have an entire thread on this matter with witness testimony. It wasn't complicated but rather didn't meet your preferred narrative. Hate it for you. Perception of truth? My truth was in the facts. Unless you can disprove testimony from a half dozen witnesses, I'll stick with them.
  13. This story has nothing to do with the election. It would probably help if you actually read and correctly interpreted a story before commenting.
  14. But it's the legitimization of false narratives the author is speaking to in part. NPR like most other news organizations failed on this front. Thankfully, this dude had the cajones to call it out. We all should applaud his stance, but those uninterested in truth simply won't due to bias and the inability to call out their team. Read this room! A 2023 Gallup survey showed that only 32 percent of Americans have some or a great deal of trust in journalism. Journalism is now focused more on political correctness and political point scoring than on traditional journalistic ethics like fairness, independence and truth-seeking. It enforces a rigid orthodoxy that promotes specific viewpoints while shutting out other voices that don’t stick to the approved narrative. In short, the news today tells its readers, viewers and listeners what to think. We see that each time we read this forum. The parrots have taken over. Just a sad reality.
  15. I presume you'd be referencing oil prices. I've got to get back in the woods. Turkeys are gobbling. To be continued.....
  16. I think DeSantis is on deck. He's done very well for Florida. MTG on the other hand needs to go. She's not alone. As other threads have pointed out, many in Congress need to go.
  17. Imagine if they had done this routinely, this story would not have been necessary. I think you misinterpreted his comment. He was fired for backing his brother. Call it unethical whatever, but the temptation is real. Family is real. I believe he is saying NewsNation demanded open-mindedness over partisan groupthink or he wouldn't have been hired.
  18. Yeah well, remember it is I telling you there are nut jobs on both sides of the aisle. Otherwise, you wouldn't know. I'm not even sure you believe it. That's an extremely sad revelation. Did you think that up on your own? I mean, I have a hard time believing that quote is in print.
  19. Why hasn't it come up in the Senate? Ask Chuck. Perhaps. Can't argue the point, but worth a shot.
  20. I honestly have no idea what "wall of bull****" you were referencing. I mean, the guy told the truth, so your response leaves one perplexed.
  21. At some point, it is hopeful that we'll come around to the idea that there are many interesting characters in Congress. This thread has certainly been entertaining.
