  1. Out of the inning with no more damaged After 1, Auburn 1- KState 1. I'm out for a while now......
  2. Bright gets the next two, then gives up an 0-2 single. Coach Nix used to make pitchers run a mile for time if they threw a strike in an 0-2 count. Watched a guy walk away from his scholarship over that once.
  3. Trace Bright on the mound in orange and blue. Gives up leadoff single, SB and a throwing error....KSU runner at 3rd with nobody out.
  4. And just like that KSU gets out of the inning. I still worry about our offensive sitauational awareness and inability to move runners. Dyal K's looking, LaRue does advance all three with a sac fly and then Howell grounds out to third, stranding runners at 2nd and 3rd. Middle of 1st, Auburn 1 - KSU 0
  5. Got the notification for game start on the app and we've already loaded the bases. Lead off single, back to back HBP...bases juiced and nobody out.
  6. I wasn't all that interested in springing the $30 for the Flo Baseball webcast, been following these games via live stats. Hoping @Brad_ATXsaw it live in person again today and will have the scoop. Probably about as much to report as yesterday....finally scratched across a couple of runs, not sure how. 3 hits for the offense, pitching held TTU to just 3 hits as well. I guess Butch moved up Joseph Gonzalez's start and it looks like he had a pretty good outing, pitched 5 complete without giving up a run and got the W. I'm afraid this offense is going to be difficult to watch again this year...outside of the big young 'un that we got from Samford (DiChiara). Final - Auburn 2 Texas Tech 1
  7. Yup. Contract with TNT estimated $6 Million per year and he could name his price when the current deal expires. Total net worth estimated at $40 - $50 Million.
  8. @tgrogan21Thanks for the update posts, I was with you most of the way. Very much appreciate the effort.
  9. Just now seeing this, wonder how it was received in Cookeville? Looks like back in October, Smith took a job as the Detroit Tigers upper minor league coordinator of pitchng development. I guess we can't miss what we never really had.
  10. Ace Recruiter Malzahn & staff sucked out almost $29 Million, Chizik and his gang took $11 Million and the Tuberville boys $6 Million, give or take. It’s kind of what we do. I take Harsin’s “ no thank you” as a move towards breaking the cycle. And for that I say thank you. If it causes you to want to jump off the roof, as it appears it does, I would suggest you direct your angst towards the common denominator in all of the above.
  11. What else is there? That guy's a bona fide dick, our guy is just an a**hole....
  12. Having some understanding of the difficulty of tranisitoning from the 4-3 to 3-4 base defense, I'll say I thought we could have been better. Fewer "true" DL's needed for the 3 man front, as I understand it, more NFL teams have gone to the 3-4 because of that (more and better LB's)....no? My issue was Mason's overwhelming propensity NOT to blitz AND to employ a soft zone coverage in passing situations. Ultimately, I think the thing that had Auburn people pulling their hair out is how different we looked versus Will Rogers and Bryce Young. Especially after so many years of good to very good press man coverage during the Steele tenure. What would you say was the break down in the second half versus MSU and why didn't he bring pressure from the LB's, CB's and Safeties? Full disclosure, I waa DT in a four man front in high school (1980 4A Alabama state champs), so I have limited practical knowledge of the passing game defense from a coverage standpoint.
  13. Yeah, why in the hell hasn't anybody mentioned Bryant? The guys left on our roster may be our version of the Junction Boys. Probably not what you were looking for though.....
  14. Ha, Mormons are a lot like Baptists in that respect. Bless their hearts....
  15. I assume Chette Williams is still an integral part of the program? I don’t see much about him any more.
  16. Also been said it’s a hell of a lot more complicated/messy than that. Remember, we hired somebody that was thought to be something of a surrogate? He disappeared…..
  17. There's a lot to like and be hopeful for in your response. It sounds like there a number of former Auburn players that are already asking to help. I really hope Harsin will bring them in, open up and drink deeply from their wealth of knowledge and experience. However, as you point out, that won't be enough. This has got to be multi-faceted and reach every level of the program including championing the current black players that have had immensly respectful things to say about him. Any idea if Greene has helped or hurt? Or is he just looking for the first good opportunity to move on?
  18. We've had our differences of opinions, but I believe you COULD NOT BE MORE RIGHT. My sincere question is, would it be accepted as more than just a PR move from the black community at large? Would that matter? Trying to be respectful, please forgive me if not worded properly.
  19. Hahahaha, you mean opinion. You write like Don King, but the dead giveaway on your comprehension level… Literary brilliance.
  20. Nope. Frankly, I had to laugh to keep from screaming. Since you push for an explanation, I'll give you my take. I took the statement at face value, not a toss away, and as an attempt to throw shade at the Auburn program and likely added fuel to the accusation that Harsin was racist. The reality is that there is probably as much or more evidence that Gundy/OSU is as uninclusive as Auburn. It's my experience and belief, over my 56 year lifetime, that amateur sports is the only place in this country that doesn't need that agenda crammed down it's collective throat (never served in the military, so I can't comment there). When I was a 17 year old walk on catcher at Auburn in '83, there was one black player, Dewayne Friend, that was a man among boys and the consumate teammate. He oozed leadership, compassion and grit from his pores. To say he was beloved wouldn't come close. That's my experience and belief. Again, the statement was disingenious and timed for effect, unfortunately I believe it hit the intended target. It's obvious that just because he coached at Stanford and Vandy, doesn't mean he has degrees from Stanford and Vandy. TIFWIW.
  21. Check with Chuba Hubbard. Set off a ****storm in Stillwater when the picture surfaced.
  22. Something NOBODY is talking about, again referencing the timeline. Resigned on 1/22...not immediately but four days later on 1/26 he accepted the OSU offer. If nothing else, it's not a stretch to believe Harsin wasn't going to put up with less than 100% allegiance. He was pushed and those four days are what cost him the $ half million ..... From Mason (on 1/26) - "After meaningful discussions with Coach Gundy these past few weeks about his vision for the program, it became apparent that leading the defense for the Cowboys was the right fit for me," Mason said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the student-athletes, coaches and staff as they continue to build a winning culture of success, inclusion and integrity on and off the field." I find the last phrase from Mason almost comical, knowing where Gundy goes for his news. At the very least, Harsin had probably told him to fish or cut bait. When he decided to cut bait, the replacement was announced immediately; Harsin (on 1/22) - "Coach Schmedding was at Coach Mason's side day after day getting our defense prepared and ready. He is a tremendous defensive coach, who has coordinated championship defenses and is a proven winner. I know our defense will take the next steps forward under Coach Schmedding's leadership." Meanwhile back in Stillwater, on Pokes Report one of their guys not believing anything was done and might not happen (on 1/21) - "We know that he wanted out at Auburn and that a new DC was coming in at Auburn. Im sure the Auburn site is tuned in to what is going on at Auburn in terms of coaches but we have the best sources at Oklahoma State and we feel confident that this is not happening in the way it is being reported. Could he becoming DC? Sure, but we don't think its imminent or as far into the process as some are reporting."
