  1. Anybody see the injury to Grayson McCall on the TD run just now in the (high value) B'ham Bowl and say "Oh s***, I hope he didn't just break his neck"?
  2. Here is the latest list of players for the Alabama Crimson Tide that won’t be participating in the Sugar Bowl. Opt-outs for NFL Draft or transfer portal Traeshon Holden, WR Christian Leary, WR JoJo Earle, WR Trey Sanders, RB Khyree Jackson, DB Amari Knight, OL Tommy Brockermeyer, OL Damieon George, OL Javion Cohen, G Braylen Ingraham, DL
  3. Every kid has to weigh the opportunity cost and make that decision for himself. I can't see a player sitting out a semi or final, but that's not my (or anybody else's) call. If it's one of the other 39 bowl games that mean nothing...from a business standpoint, there's nothing to profit and potentially everything to lose. There's been at least one player sitting out an entire season to eliminate the potential of ending a career from injury before the daft.
  4. Might as well have been for Melvin Bratton in the '88 Orange Bowl. That injury cost him $Millions.... As for the "duty, honor, loyalty" argument, it could be said their commitment to family requires the same. The days of playing for love of school and team are long gone. None of us are blowing out a knee running to the copy machine.
  5. The man, the myth, the legend @GwillMac6ALWAYS the voice of reason. The old guys need all the splainin' they can get around here. Need help with this Nigerian Prince that wants to send me a ton of money....
  6. Got a buddy who’s son played with him at KMHS, tells me that Harsin & Co put forth almost no effort with this kid. I won’t quote what was said… I think we already knew.
  7. I'll leave your other two questions alone, take a shot at this one...since it seems obvious. 1. Build a staff that will put a highly competitive team on the field every week. 2. Hold together current commits, add additional talent to the 2023 signing class...particularly OL. 3. Use the transfer portal to add 6-10 quality players, again particularly OL. 4. Get better than average results, with some key "wins" at late signing in February. 5. Beat the traditional rivals regularly. 6. Win the SEC West. 7. Win the SEC. 8. Win the CFP. I don't think moral/ethical behavior will be an expectation....it has to be a given.
  8. Big bark for such little bite. He's got Todd Grantham's sideline disposition with no apparent ability to back it up.
  9. Then next year two. Then the year after three. Then the following year...you get the point.
  10. Kiesau is lucky if Caddy didn't beat the ever living crap out him on the way out of the building this afternoon for what he's done with Bigsby this year. Over/under on carries per game over the next four should be right around 120.
  11. My chagrin is much greater than Bryan Harsin, but when we actually fire him I'll get you the medal you so desperately want. You still won't be happy, never will be when it comes to Auburn football....
  12. Agreed. He’s also got a pretty potent bat as well. Hoping the work Tommy Vail is doing in the fall will carry right on into the spring. Guy is a defense’s dream, works fast and throws strikes. Should give strong veteran leadership to that pitching staff. Good to see Gonzo have an efficient outing and Chris Stanfield contributing at the plate.
  13. From the Butch feed, confirming.... Auburn vs Alabama Fall Game On Friday, October 28th we will be hosting Alabama for a 12 inning fall scrimmage. This is a non-ticketed event that is open to everyone. Ring Ceremony On Saturday, between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the Auburn vs Arkansas Football Game, the 2022 team will be presented with their College World Series rings.
  14. I'll try to remember to keep the Butch feed posted....
  15. From the Butch feed.... Two nice new out of conference series, home against Indiana and what should be a fantastic trip to Los Angeles for a series at USC. Also adding back the mid-week games with GA Tech.
  16. Beautiful day, I’m told they are going 12 innings. Joseph Gonzalez got lit up for three in the first, and Zach Crotchfelt was likewise touched up for three in the third. Sixth year lefty Tommy Vail has been most impressive in my opinion. Had a nine pitch three strikeout inning of work. It’s obvious he’s been on a mound a few times. Hitting was spotty over the first few innings, really smoking in the last few innings. Edit: Tigers gave up a ton of runs early, came back with a six spot in the 9th (I think) and then won it on a Brody Wortham line shot over the left field wall. The freshman catcher Ike Irish hit a laser to right center for the other Tiger home run on the day. Cole Foster had a nice day defensively at SS. Looking like we will have a full compliment of natural outfielders. Josh Hall and Chris Stanfeild showed tremendous range, both from the CF spot.. Butch is clearly stockpiling talent, interesting to look at where some of these kids are transferring in from.
  17. Checking in with some dates and updates (Coach Thompson feed....) ABCA Assistant Coach of the Year – Karl Nonemaker Coach Nonemaker has been named the 2022 American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division I Assistant Coach of the Year. He is Auburn’s first assistant coach to earn the recognition, and we could not be prouder of who he is and what he means to this program. Coach Nonemaker will be honored at the 2023 American Baseball Coaches Association in Nashville, TN on January 6. Fall Games - The Tigers will host two fall games in 2022. Both events will be non-ticketed. The first fall game will be against Louisiana Tech University on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00pm. The second fall game will be against The University of Alabama on Friday, October 28th at 6:00pm. We hope to see you at Plainsman Park this fall.
  18. We're so not there yet with Harsin...are we? L.O.L. Anything (absolutely anything) for a rush these days.
  19. Jimmy freakin' Rayne. If we're gonna' go, why not go big? Just turn the whole dadgum thing over to him, I would assume he'd pea his size 60" pants to take it.
  20. No chance any game in the last five years and for the next two or three years qualifies as "the biggest" anything....
  21. And if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle. Your point? If anybody thought we wouldn't suck loudly this year, you weren't paying attention 'round about February of this year.
  22. Get used to this. I know you're on it, but for those that aren't aware, Butch is the man....
