I think the biggest impact will be that it will be practically impossible to maintain what saban has done and even more so in the portal era. I don’t believe patience or acceptance of the new reality is something that fan base is capable of.

No, I read it. I just thought you might have something more than that. He may have changed his mind from where he was a few weeks ago, but I don’t see why more competitors with significantly less of a connection than he had before, with the school he was committed too is a bigger problem. All those other schools existed in the exact same way before saban and wiggins left bama. So the only difference is one got weaker.

I’d take it. I think with our run game we could figure out how to incorporate a competent passing game. 😄

I definitely agree and hope for some coaching stability. My comment was more of the possibility of talent or lack of talent having an effect on results and therefore retention of coaches. I would say the lack of continuity definitely hurt our recruiting but I would also think that lack of talent hurt our continuity as well. We seem to be trending the right direction on talent so hopefully we see that turn into wins and coach advancement rather than the same cycle we have been on of fire and replace. I think the coaches we have are good enough to win when they have the talent and staff cohesion. I just hope we get the pieces in place fast enough to reap the benefits.

Hopefully the guys we hire are working with similar player talent to those Alabama assistants soon. Should make it a lot easier to move up instead of out.

I’m not sure Milroe can be come a pure passer in the way they used Penix. Maybe they can adapt the offense but Roger’s is probably better suited to what UW did the last two years at QB.

It will be interesting to see if he tries to turn Milroe into Penix. I don’t believe Milroe has the tools to be a pure passer. Also his OC at UW is supposed to be a prime target to be UW HC so it will be interesting to see what he can do without him and Penix. Looking at his record and it still seems pretty early in his big boy football career to make a solid judgement on what his future will be. This seems like it could be going from swimming in the community lake to swimming in shark infested waters. Im not saying he isn’t a good coach , but is he ready for this!

Yeah 3 losses and a less than top 5 recruiting year and the natives will get restless quick. If he slips outside the top 10 in recruiting (hard to believe) they will come after him with pitch forks. Also very doubtful he will be able to pull in the same quality of off the field support staff like saban did with the rehab coaches.

Looked it up he does and I already feel bad for them.
