  1. FWIW I saw a CB this morning with Riggs to GT. Disappointing. Hope he comes to BCW.
  2. I don't know who it is, but there are at least four OTs that AU recruited for a while, who have since committed to SEC programs. If Auburn slow played them a little it might not be an easy flip. I always felt like the staff wanted a big splash like Calhoun or Poe to commit first to say we're back but that didn't happen, so we do need to land at least two or three HS kids I would hope. These prospects are SEC quality. I say flip. Flip U is OK for these first couple of years until we get back our respect. WDE!!
  3. I can see how some Dads might be drawn toward the more tough guy image of CNS or CKS, but Moms might appreciate the southern charm of Coach Hugh Freeze, but who knows? I think "e"'s response is probably the right one for most Mom's. Just be happy.
  4. I don't see how Riddick could come to Big Cat if he commits to the other side. He must be ours. Where does his mother stand?
  5. When are the CBs going to start rolling in? I would imagine many of the best prognosticators know how they will go. They just don't want to be the first domino to fall and be wrong when something leaks right after they cast their ballot. Gut check Tuesday night or Wed. morning? Could DR just defer till after Big Cat?
  6. Seems like we got our hopes up too high after that big recruiting weekend that had a lot of big-time recruits. I don't think we landed anyone on that Monday. Our lowest rated OVer committed to Stanford a few days later after the dust settled. Let's stay cautiously optimistic. WDE CDHF!!!
  7. I would imagine other programs were involved with his recruiting in the beginning, but they probably started dropping off when the Blue Bloods entered the picture. I believe Coach Pearl can hold his own with anyone. One of the BB's will probably sign him, but Bruce won't make it easy for 'em. WDE CBP!!
  8. I think you are right, unfortunately. It's a nice gesture for Bidunga to include Auburn in the final group. Coach Pearl and his staff have put a lot of effort into recruiting this young man in the right way. Very few programs would use their time to go up against Duke, Kansas and Michigan. FB is showing his respect and admiration for our coaches.
  9. I like all this positive talk. Just don't want to get my hopes up too high. 😉
  10. I think it bothers most of us, whether we admit it or not. I feel sorry for coaches and staff who put so much time and effort into one kid, albeit a huge difference maker kid. Our current coaches may not have had much experience and displeasure dealing with the UAT machine. I'm afraid they're getting their feet soaked right now. I understand being cautiously optimistic, without becoming over confident.
  11. This is a surprise for sure. We're almost never a heavy lean for a high profile Georgia kid. It's always close. Just glad UGA is apparently not involved. WDE!!
  12. I was thinking he would have a good shot at LF if Stanfield moves to Center. We could use another lefty hitter. MB is a long ways from home to ride the bench. Wish him well.
  13. Apparently staff feels 3*s Barber and Simmons are underrated. I've heard Shaw may be a little overrated. ND seems interested though. My guess would be Shaw commits to AU with a firm offer at BCW. Riddick is No. 1, but probably a long shot, unfortunately. Would be our best LB recruit in quite a while, IMO. I've always thought Simmons would end up at Arky and probably be a tackling machine, especially against Auburn. Hope it's the reverse, but I would imagine the kid is getting pressure from the Hogs. But what do I know? Nothing. Just surmising as an outsider.
  14. Unlike some positions (most notably OL) we seem to have no problem getting solid 4* DBs assuming we nab Crawford. If our talented staff could steal a 5* DB this year (namely Bolden) AU secondary could very quickly become second to none in SEC and recruiting in general could get a big shot in the arm. Go get 'em Crime and Zac. The Big Boys will soon know that Auburn is back. We won't win all the recruiting battles, but I firmly believe when the dust settles in December, Tiger fans will be happier than we've been in a while. WDE!!
  15. We haven't lost them if we never had them. Although Crawford has been AU lean, but LSU is a school like the Texas schools that can swoop in and steal one if they really want him. I don't enjoy being a bridesmaid (runnerup). Bring some smiles to the Plains MB!!
  16. True. I just wasn't sure he was a take. I hope he is. We need some HS kids. Baker may be considered a project, but I believe he has enough talent, gives a 110%, and loves Auburn. More size and strength will come. Maybe even some stars.😉
  17. You're correct. I think Blocton would probably be the closest to a lock that we have left on our board. AU football program would be in a world of hurt if he were to slip away. I would hate to be known as Transfer Portal U, but whatever it takes. WDE!!
  18. At the end of the day it may be same ole. But at least we are in the running for some of the high profile prospects this time around. WDE!!
  19. I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to be booed or labeled a troll. Sadly, you probably nailed it CE bro'. Even if you're wrong it's just a matter of time.🥲
  20. I one hundred percent agree with your assessment as usual. Coaches at UGA and UAT are well aware of Freeze and Auburn threat. I was thinking more of the arrogant fan base of both those rivals schools that don't have proper respect for Auburn. How could that happen? They would think we cheated somehow and probably demand an investigation. I know the Phillips commit put a little dent in the UGA armor. But an actual flip from a 5* might get attention from higher ups. Also the Bolden sweepstakes on Sep.29/ 30 could be interesting as well, if we can hold off his commitment that long. I know it's entertaining, but I just don't see a Thompson flip. Bama just doesn't lose a flip, unless he is processed and that obviously won't happen, no matter how much he flirts with Auburn, maybe teases is the better term.
  21. This is HUGE. July 26th may be the biggest day for recruiting. I know he is only one kid, albeit a 5* from our state. But this a big test of our standing as compared to the giants of College Football. I would imagine UGA and UAT think it's a two team fight, but if CHF and staff pull off this upset, it would shock the SEC football world. Of course, something could happen in the next 3 1/2 weeks that could relegate 7/26 to just another day. 😄
  22. It's a little unsettling to depend on a couple of flips in Dec. to salvage our OL class. And of course there's always the transfer portal. Those may be the our two best options this year . If we have a significantly better than expected year on the field, those could be very rewarding options and it would also greatly enhance recruiting for '25 class, to insert a positive spin. Let's keep the faith.
  23. It's not over until it's over. But unless I'm missing something, it's not looking good right now for OL recruiting. in the last couple of months were riding high with a lot of high profile recruits in for OVs. Maybe we set our sights too high, but looks we may even strike out with the 3* offensive linemen. Are we still suffering from fallout from the last four or five years. Maybe we're overreacting. I'm sure CDHF would like to start off with a big dog to set the tone for a strong OL class. Come on guys. Bring 'em in.
