  1. QJ wanted to come to Auburn two or three years ago, but that was then. It's a different world out there now.
  2. My grandson says HHS is favorite to win 7A state this year and next. Only one senior in starting 5 (a 6'-10 kid). Only loss to Montverde (Cooper Flaggs team).
  3. So far CHF has not been able to sign the elite Portal kids but maybe they are just not many out there. However he has been successful in attracting mid level talented guys for depth. Hopefully we will step it up a little this year. WDE!!
  4. I'm guessing AU wanted one more HS OL. I was hoping for Echols who seems more ready. But as soon as we got thumbs down from CE, our staff quickly turned to Edwin. In the long run we may be the winners. Who knows right now. WDE!
  5. Harris would be big. He was a 5* in '23 class and No. 1 recruit in Alabama at Central -Phenix City.
  6. He may be trying to come back to Auburn, but we probably have some other options (maybe better ones) in the portal. My guess is we may be asking him to wait for the second NSD signing after the first portal season. If so he probably won't wait with no guarantees. We'll see. Good kid and good athlete, but a project as I understand it.
  7. Someone reported that Freeze was handing the job to PT as "unchallenged" starter. I guess I missed the unchallenged part. Someone has it backwards. To get a high profile Portal QB you almost have to guarantee him the job. CHF is not willing to do that. As for looking for a two year Portal QB a year from now, I'm not so sure. A one year guy might be the best option. Who knows right now? If HG, HB, and/or WW have not come along as hoped and expected, a one year delay might be what the doctor orders. Again who knows. A lot can happen and change in a year. People who think our 5* WR recruits can't make that big of a difference lets wait and see. Look around. We've never had them. I support the Coach. He's willing to roll the dice and he certainly knows a lot more than any of us. WDE!!
  8. Feels like a loss to me. He was top Portal OT IMHO. Let's try to stay stay positive. Maybe an even bigger dog will emerge soon. WDE!!
  9. So Robby can not or will not play in the bowl game? HG will be the backup unless he tests the waters. I guess HB can play in the bowl game without losing his redshirt. Several walkons willing and able should the need arise.
  10. Could be too smart to qualify. Off the charts so rejected.
  11. An Ivy League transfer would not qualify at Auburn? Are you serious? Unless you mean he is not good enough.
  12. Unless CHF can convince High Profile Portal QBs that OL and WRs will be greatly improved I doubt if we get one. Some probably want guarantees too. I think he will be able to convince them about WRs after ENSD. I agree that we get a QB but probably not one that will please everyone. WDE!!
  13. Very good class if it happens. Those recruits in the red letters are commits. Are those prospects in the black letters ones you hope we sign or that you think will sign with AU?
  14. Sounds like a decommitment from A&M. But If he was sold on AU as his backup plan, a flip would have been the more likely next step. So could be the distance factor means he wants to look at other Texas schools. Who knows with these young men.
  15. If PT had been here in the spring it could have made the difference in a couple of the close games. Who knows?
  16. He certainly passes the eye test for an offensive tackle. Go get him Coach Thornton!!
  17. Agents love a bidding war. That's where they make their dough.
  18. Hope he smiled after the selfie.🙂
  19. If this WR class holds together, amazing is a big understatement for CHF salesmanship. Marcus Davis deserves a lot of credit too but they wouldn't be coming to Auburn without the big plan. When I look at the elite WRs on UAT, UGA, Washington, and others with moves that get great separation, with awareness and ability to time their jumps, great hands, feet, and eye coordination, instincts to come back for the ball when needed, ever so gentle push offs without getting flagged, and ability to escape tackles after the catch. And so many more little things that mean a lot as they say. This is what I envision with this WR class, which we've never had to my knowledge.
  20. At this point I think Portal is the best option for immediate OL help. We just have to get the right ones. Britton was a diamond in the rough for sure. Time better spent focusing on '25 HS talent than spending months trying to flip '24 guys. I will admit it was worth it to continue recruiting CC because he was continuing to visit and show interest in AU and he was local with many friends committed to Auburn.
  21. The shooting talents of the newcomers that Coach Pearl and others were raving about was against weaker competition for the most part (HS and lower tier college teams mainly). It's going to take some time to gain the confidence and make adjustments against the athleticism of our opponents. FTs is a different thing, but like someone said if you only go to the line once in a game it's hard to get into any rhythm. Another thing that I think was pointed out, our newbies were probably used to playing 35 minutes in a game as opposed to 15 minutes at Auburn. Hopefully they will all adjust very soon. WDE!!
  22. Actually Auburn is playing. QB's name is Brock Auburn Glenn. I think he was trending Auburn but I don't think he hit it off with Harsin. Parents were AU grads I believe.
  23. Are you serious? Why would he not be a take? I thought we had been trying to get him to flip for several months. If true I don't really see a problem with this, since we seem to have several in portal that would give us more immediate help. Just surprised!
