  1. Yup... you know me... I'll get behind a KJ style runner just like any good fan should, but I love for AU that have a Kam style bruiser in the backfield.
  2. Wow... that's surprising, since they are different types of backs.
  3. If Teague or Pearce knocked on our door, we wouldn't tell them to go away, but I think we'll be happy with what we have if they don't.
  4. The thing about Roc is that he would have been great, if he wasn't so fragile. Roc never had the time to reach his potential because he was on the sidelines nursing an injury before the end of nearly every game. Fortunately, not every back that reminds us of him will have that problem.
  5. How great would it be if history kept repeating itself and all of the truly once in a lifetime athletes called Auburn home? Time for the greatest receiver of all time to step up
  6. People love to speak/write with hyperbole, especially in the media... even more so the sports media. Watson is great, but he's no Cam. Since Cam, they have tried to label several QBs the next Cam... none have quite lived up to the hype. They are all great, but none of them are the freak athlete that Cam is. It's just like there's never been another Bo. There have been loads of amazing running backs, but none who are the freak of nature that he is. Fields is just a senior in high school. Anyone labeling him a once in a lifetime player is doing him a disservice. Let the kid play a few years in college and we'll see just how great he is. I honestly think Gatewood has a better shot of being a phenom. Fields is already a stellar, polished QB, but Gatewood has the freak athleticism that, if he can harness it, can take him to rare places.
  7. And odds are he's going to work out better than the last one we beat them for.
  8. I doubt very much he'll be either. Cam was a once in a lifetime kind of talent. No one should be expected to live up to that. As for Woody, we already know that Joey has a great attitude, so there's no way he is a Woody.
  9. That's the kind of thing that more playing time is going to help him get over.
  10. Give em heck Momma. Don't let these fans try to limit what your boy can do.
  11. And he's small, which means we only need to open a small hole for him to get through, leaving the D in his dust.
  12. Agreed... but now he's motivated to show them how wrong they are. Nothing is more fun than making it obvious just how wrong someone is about you when they do something insulting like that, and watch them stumble all over themselves trying to explain it away.
  13. Here's a thought. Why are we assuming that he will be playing at 165? I mean, he probably won't get much taller, but several months in Coach Russell's program has been know to pack on quite a few pounds. With his attitude and drive, and some hard work in the weight room, I could see him becoming a Josh Robinson type back, except faster... squirting through holes and hard to take down once he has a head of steam.
  14. The big difference between Joey and the last two project QBs we got is Joey has all of the tools in spades, they just need refining and reps, unlike John, and Joey has the right attitude, unlike Woody.
  15. One better, he's the best QB developer we've had since Al Borges who... is currently on the staff too Prior to that was Petrino, who can never set foot in Auburn again, as far as I'm concerned.
  16. This is what I've been saying all along. I want him as a TE, though I wouldn't go as far as to give him OJ Howard level capabilities.
  17. Here's the thing, Clayton, that is a myth, at least in the way it's perpetuated. People make it sound like schools are cheating, left and right, as part of their recruiting practices, and that just isn't true. Yes, every school has boosters who do $100 handshakes... there's no arguing that point, but every school doesn't sanction such handshakes (note: they may be aware of them without approving). Ever school doesn't have a staff that directly participates in illegal recruiting. And every school doesn't deal in big money (car, suit, rim, etc) transactions to get the players they want. Some schools do, however, and it puts them at an advantage, until they get caught.. unless they have protection. If Ole Miss isn't the poster child for the difference between an "every school" and a school who is intentionally cheating, I don't know who is. Apologies for the further derailment. Nix is likely the kind of kid from the kind of family who couldn't be bought anyway.
  18. That's ok... Gus handled it for you by making Smith a DB.
  19. Which JS? Stidham, Smith, or all of the above?
  20. Maybe Asa already has a good car, rims he likes, and some suits...
  21. We'll see if the NFL decides he needs to detour from his chosen profession for a few years From what I can tell, he has the heart and drive to excel at whatever he chooses to do.
  22. Don't worry. @Momma Worm would have nothing of that. These are Auburn people. They play by the rules.
  23. Golf knows what one is... they were all the rage when he was a kid.
  24. Probably not the best choice of GIF for college recruiting... just saying.
