  1. Head Coach- Yes x 1000 QB- Yes RB- Yes, as long as JH is available. The quality of our depth to 4 deep is improved and they added Battie to the mix. OL- Yes, remains to be seen how "mean" these guys are or whether they can handle SEC DLs but from reports things are looking positive. TE- Yes WR- Yes, bigger receivers with experience were added which is a Freeze main stay. A better OL and offensive scheme will help them too. DL- Push, we lost 2 studs, added back a couple more and overall might have more depth. LBs- Push, the experienced transfers will hold the key to a yes. CBs- Yes S- Push Ps & Ks- About the same. Now Freeze has to mold the 42 new players into part of a cohesive team.
  2. Yep and even after all the other stuff happened that you just mentioned, we were still in the perfect position to win it all with a minute to go. I doubt I'll ever get over it.
  3. I doubt if I will ever get over that game, not only for what was at stake, but the fact that we threw it away at the end. They were 60+ yards from the endzone with 1 minute to go and had to have a TD. All we had to do was make them eat up the clock. The one thing we couldn't do was let them get a large chunk of yardage on 1 play that didn't use up much time. So there we are. They had to get a 1st down and sent their WR on a 5 yard curl to do that. Our DBs had to make sure they grabbed on to the WR and secured the tackle. Instead our 2 DBs go for the kill shot, the WR gets loose and proceeds to gain 40 yards in less than 15 seconds. Without that large gain they run out of time and we are NC.
  4. AI thinks a Tenn. volunteer is an orange, lol.
  5. This is a big BIG deal. The thought that Coach Freeze and staff could take over a 5 win team from last season and pull off this caliber of commit, against a 15 win NC team, is absolutely amazing. This Phillips commit gives Freeze/staff the cred in recruiting. "If" we could put 9 wins on the books for 2023, I'll even take 8, CHF and AU will have some big time momentum.
  6. Shug Dye Tubs Bowden Gus Chiz Barfield There is a certain person not on the list because this is a list for coaches. Harsin is not a coach.
  7. The Wreck Tech parade down at Auburn use to be SO much fun. Some of the nuttiest and most creative floats you'd ever want to see. I sure hated to see it go.
  8. Ahh, so they're proposing the hybrid pod that's not a pod or as you say, the mixed up pods, lol. Yah, that would defeat the whole purpose which may be why someone pushed it, so they could kill it. Leave it to the SEC to make it as jumbled as possible. But it sounds like they're leaning more towards the 1+7 anyway which is a simple, fair concept and also my favorite. Thanks for the info.
  9. That's what a pod is, you and your 3 permanent teams in the 3+6 scenario. The 3+6 has to use pods or the scheduling is impossible with 16 teams. It's obvious in the 1+7 there will be no pods. Divisions are gone for either the 8 or 9 game scenario.
  10. There are no "divisions" in either scenario. In my 9 game 3+6 example, they have to use pods or the math doesn't work. The 8 game, 1+7, no divisions or no pods is the best option imo. It's also the easiest to implement and the fairest for everybody. So we play UGa every other year instead of every year, same for bama vs Tenn. We can live with it.
  11. Pods= 3 perms. + 6 No Pods= 1 perm. + 7 My personal choice is no pods with the 1+7.
  12. They don't hate us, they fear us because....
  13. I'm leaning more and more towards the 8 game, 1 +7 schedule. Each team gets 1 rival and plays the rest of the SEC every 2 years. It's also the simplest format to enact. In our case if that means we play UGa every 2 years instead of every year, so be it.
  14. Getting a quality QB in the first transfer period was hard enough but people need to remember CHF had only 3 weeks to do it. The QB position is unique and most transfer QBs want to know what they're getting into before they make the jump. Because of that, more established coaching staffs will have an understandable advantage in acquiring a good transfer QB. But CHF and staff did bring in 12 other players at critical positions of need which was an impressive accomplishment. The 2nd transfer window does seem to be a lot slower, as CHF and many others are saying, not only for QB but for other positions. Keeping the QB transfer situation in perspective, as of today there have been only 18 teams, out of 130+, that were able to get a 4* QB in the portal.
  15. The obvious irony is that he was "brought in" under the same circumstances. Apparently in his mind, that doesn't apply to him because of excuses and all that.
  16. 4/5/23-Demario Tolan a 'vital piece' to the linebacker room says Aldridge (on3.com)
  17. I would sure hate to see us waste another year of a promising defense and what looks to be an upgraded OL, on subpar performance at the QB position, again. Many SEC teams seem to be able to sign competent QBs on a regular basis, some even more than one. I do think CHF will be the coach that can finally get the job done. We've just got to get this problem solved and the sooner the better.
  18. That was the biggest bull**** call I have EVER seen in basketball. What makes it worse is the refs took 10 minutes to review the play. They clearly saw that punk bammer pull Broome to the floor by the arm, throw the ball at him, hit him with it and then taunt him. No foul on the bammer but it's a foul on Broome ? It was an absolute disgrace. It almost makes you wish JD had gotten into it with him when JD stepped in between and the bammer punk pushed JD's hands away.
  19. I am liking the staff CHF is putting together. Two seasoned guys as coordinators for their experience and the Xs and Os. Young bucks as position coaches who are good recruiters partnered up with a recruiting head coach as the closer. You can see Freeze's plan playing out and it makes a lot of sense.
  20. So many back door layups by Memphis. Defense is really off this game.
  21. @Mikey We have to also include from the same era, DB Buddy McClinton. His hit on a Florida WR was the hardest hit I ever saw in person. I thought he killed the guy.
