  1. Didn't Freeze's staff basically own and beat Arkansas on the road while Harsin's crew lost to them at home?
  2. Been in management 20+ years. Not a new concept. But we never had to worry about our competitors because they weren't consistently beating our brains out year after year with relative ease. I'm not 100% comfortable with the hire either. But this is football. Big time football. Not NAIA, or lower level FCS. Not in our lifetime have we seen both UAT and UGA so far ahead that Auburn can barely field a competitive team. We might as well admit it's a total mismatch. And to see those 2 schools continue to push the envelope in every way imaginable, with zero consequences? It's gone too far. Auburn has run out of time for the patience needed with an unknown or an up and comer. If Freeze is such a pariah, then why on God's green earth did Nick Saban and 4 other SEC schools look into hiring the man back In January of 2018, a mere 6 months after he left Ole Miss? Where was the hue and outcry then? Did it hurt Saban? Or course not. If the new leadership is bold enough to run with it, then why not us? I've got nothing to lose. Do you?
  3. Terrific. I'm sure all 100% of your employees, including leadership, have been 100% perfect for the entire 30 years. After all, the bar for business must be as equally high as it is for Auburn? Or even higher it sounds like? Right?
  4. Quite the savant. With that track record, Cohen and the PTB need your input, badly. You owe it to all Auburn fans to make your voice heard. Before it's too late!
  5. If it's true the roster and overall mood and direction of the program needs an immediate jolt, then Deion is the defibrillator. It's an extremely critical point in history right now. Either go for broke and reach for the stars, or be patient for the next 3 to 4 years. The roster has to be #1. Could players leave with Deion? Sure. Do you want great players on the roster or not? I would rather have them and take my chances versus not having them at all.
  6. Another angle. Think about the potential extra revenue Deion could draw into the program. He has a gift for marketing. The possibility of recouping some of the money spent on buyouts HAS to be a consideration.
  7. Observation and reflection. Has anyone actually read and studied the press release word for word? It was short, but powerful. Particularly in what was NOT said. No mention of name. No appreciation for the effort and time spent. No best wishes to him and his family in all their future endeavors. None of the usual polite, obligatory rhetoric you normally see in these announcements. The toxic environment emanating from the head coaches' office must have been so bad, that you can feel the anger and lack of respect behind the written words of that dismissal statement. Stunning.
  8. He already has a street named after him in Auburn, California. The hostile anti Auburn attitude he openly harbored during his Prattville tenure burned all the bridges to the one in Alabama. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bill+Clark+Way,+Auburn,+CA+95602/@38.9530092,-121.0869078,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x809b1021f842372d:0x675fcea20f971937!8m2!3d38.953005!4d-121.0847191
  9. Seal of approval. It's official now......
  10. No one will ever forget Halloween 2022. The day that changed everything?
  11. It's not micromanaging, appeasing to meddlers, kow towing, or anything else. It's called a simple courtesy. A line of communication. Let important people know BEFORE it goes public. Of course it's the president's call to make.
  12. If it's Cohen, he has no problem firing coaches. A lot of people would view it as a positive and jump for joy with relief at the news.
  13. See above and other places. Look for it. The "script" includes keeping everyone important in the know. Doesn't mean you have 100% buy in, but at least THEY know before the world knows. That's the mistake.
  14. Communication and alignment. Building a consensus takes time. But it's a requirement at this level of management. Things get handled quietly. Don't ever deviate from those two basic tenets of leadership. Look at the last 24 hours. This rookie mistake can still be fixed.
  15. I'd want all feedback. The good and the bad. A sense of the day to day vibe around the complex would be a bonus.
  16. Leadership 101. If I'm vetting Cohen, input from Butch, AND Johnnie Harris would be a requirement. She followed Vic Schaefer to A&M after not getting the job as his replacement. Secondly, don't ever hire someone your people are not expecting. If this part is true?
  17. The Freeze Fan Club reaction. You saw it here first.
