  1. Oh no. I give credit where credit's due. You're not just everyone. You're someone with insider info......
  2. If you have credibility, then why didn't you share info on Justin Powell a year ago? It seems odd to have insider info on one player and one player alone. And then wag your finger when challenged.
  3. I'm sad to see him go. All out effort and hustle. He rolled his sleeves up and did a lot of the dirty work. He humbly embraced that role for the team. Auburn won a lot of games while he started in place of Flanigan. Team player all the way. And I'll never forget his monster 21 point effort (7-10 from 3) in that magnificent 91-90 OT win against LSU in 2020 as a freshman. Good luck to him.
  4. Miami it is. Couldn't watch due to work. If you look at the stat sheet, how in the world does USC lose that game? Turnovers 18-3. That's a smart, well coached team.
  5. 10th comment down...... https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/lsu-sports/5-yohan-traore/101700995/
  6. Hitting just a handful of catch and shoot 3s would do wonders. I wish we could do more back and forth between the low post and the wings.
  7. Amen. Although, the lack of a mid range game, other than Jabari, almost lends itself to a high number of 3s. I'm not so hung up on 3s so long as they are squared up and not drifting, AND in rhythm. Call upon that memory and feeling of hitting 10 or more practice shots in a row. Can we do that please?
  8. Not the worse, but definitely not a cake walk. On the other hand, Kentucky, Kansas, and UCLA can literally sleep walk to the sweet 16. Villanova might break a sweat. I have no idea what the feeling of the team is right now. One thing I do know. We badly need some consistent double figure scoring from people not named Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler. Our guards need to somehow find their confidence again. And fast. I've said many times, I'm not a Princeton or Virginia offense lover by any means. I love the wide open attack. However, if you want to be a well rounded TEAM, once in a blue moon, when things aren't going well, you need a set play or two that involves ALL 5 GUYS moving and screening for one another at the same time. Get....them.....all.....moving. It's too late to introduce something so bold, structured, and fundamental. I truly believe the players would buy in if you sell it like adding a trick play to the tool box for when things aren't going well. As for rotations? Honestly, I'm not opposed to starting JW over Flanigan, or switching up the guards. Flip flop starting roles. Either Green over Jasper, or Green over KD. Shake up and stir the drink a little. Except for end of half situations, the 3 guard line up is a hard no go. No ball handling depth and foul trouble concerns. Back to the dance. Santa Claus and Christmas never ends for Big Ten basketball. Does it? Getting NINE freaking bids is the biggest pile of BS. Michigan and their electrifying 17-14 at large record. Do records matter anymore? Pretty tough non-con yes, but NINE double digit losses, including Minnesota, at home by 10? AND they actually managed to avoid a play in? LMAO! Indiana? Crappy non-con. Losing conference record (9-11) and 4-8 down the stretch. The bottom feeders in the Big Ten really tasted good for the 9 that got in. Didn't they? AND....no #1 seed! Not even close to sniffing one. It's a sham and a mockery for committee members to sit there with a straight face defending the indefensible. As for Texas A&M? Red Hot team, yes. On the surface you're lulled into the belief they got screwed. Decent non-con, VERY close home loss to Kentucky in a game they should have won. But it's pretty damn hard to overcome a 1-9 stretch, including an 8 game losing streak. And you absolutely cannot lose at home to both South Carolina AND Missouri. That killed them. If they win both, maybe even one, they're in. Lastly, I'd give anything to have Saint Mary's or San Francisco as my potential 2nd round opponent. The West Coast Conference is so pathetically weak in talent and athleticism. They kept building up San Fran as a team who could compete with Gonzaga. Then look like kids playing against adults as Gonzaga runs through them like a hot knife through butter. No resistance. Were it not for Saint Mary's slow ball, shot clock burning offense, and just plain being physical, Gonzaga never breaks a sweat. Cheers!
  9. Click bait. He's being his usual obtuse self. Especially when it comes to his grudge against BP.
  10. LOL! Have you ever actually BEEN to a practice? Sat next to coaches during games for 4 years? Setup video equipment? Been in a locker room? Do you have the slightest clue about what goes on behind the scenes of a basketball team? I have pointed out MANY things. Mainly the lack of guard depth. One thing I won't do, is kneejerk react and hurl stuff like a spoiled brat that doesn't get their way.
  11. You sound exactly like the fools you railed against when you first started posting. One minute you're praising the greatest basketball coach to EVER set foot on the Auburn campus. Bashing him the next.
  12. Las Vegas has become a mecca for conference tournament junkies that few people truly grasp. If it weren't for work, I'd attend a few games. Six conferences, men and women. Conference tournaments’ arrival in Las Vegas 1994: Big West men and women at Thomas & Mack Center 1998: WAC men and women at Thomas & Mack Center 2000: Mountain West men and women at Thomas & Mack Center 2009: WCC men and women at Orleans Arena; 2013: Pac-12 men at MGM Grand Garden 2019: Pac-12 women at MGM Grand Garden
  13. To be honest, I'm not all that concerned about the SEC Tourney except for playing well. Let's just go there, play hard, play smart, STAY HEALTHY, and have fun for a change. We've got a good enough resume' to be a #1 right now. Duke is out, despite all the Coach K love and hype they've been endlessly pumping. You don't lose a home grand finale by 13 to a team you demolished on the road by 20 a few weeks ago. What a crash and burn that was. Very bad. Gonzaga, Arizona, and Baylor, I get. Kansas, I don't. THREE double digit losses including a HOME blowout loss to Kentucky, whom we beat by 9. But they conveniently overlook it. Even Baylor has some holes in their resume' as well. Back to back HOME losses. TWO other double digit losses. How many home or double digit losses for Auburn? Zip. And we beat the first 2 teams to punch tickets. Some CBS online writer yesterday wrote we had the luxury of not playing AT Arkansas? Please.
  14. Depending on the situation, do it only during the end of each half. Why? You have extended rest periods afterwards. There's your boost of energy, ball handling, and playmaking. Obviously fatigue becomes a concern if overtime comes into play. Rebounding? When you switch everything on D, there's your mismatches. Secondly, in practice, we need to do a refresher course on finding and putting a body on someone when the ball goes up. And that goes for everyone. Guards included.
  15. The coaches expect our guards to do it all. It would be nice if we had one or two plays with ALL 5 guys in motion setting screens for one another. At least ONCE in a blue moon. Come on Bruce.
  16. Lionel James was critical in turning the 82 Iron Bowl in Auburn's favor. Late 1st Quarter. It's not looking good. Bammer is up 7-0. Driving again and dominating. Then two gigantic, momentum changing plays occurred. At the Auburn 29, Mark Dorminey knocked the snot out of Joe Carter. Tim Drinkard grabbed the midair fumble and returned it 62 yards to the Alabama 14. On 3rd and 9, Auburn ties the game at 7-7 when James weaved his way for the TD on a brilliantly executed DRAW play. Everyone remembers Bo over the top. But Little Train's scamper in the 1st, and Randy Campbell's option keeper in the 2nd allowed Auburn to keep pace despite being outgained by almost 3-1. Early in the 4th, James delivered a crushing block on a penetrating Alabama cornerback to help spring Bo's toss sweep for a 52 yard run which led to a Del Greco FG. That is when ABC commentator Frank Broyles declared Lionel James to be "the best one on one blocker for a back in the wishbone that I've ever seen." High praise from a legendary coach who saw plenty of wishbones in his day.
  17. Fresh guards. Gotta have them. I think Zep being out took a heavy physical and mental toll on both KD and Green. Even though Zep has been back for 2 games, their normal energy level hasn’t quite returned. Hopefully those two can get their 2nd wind and legs back.
  18. 6 pt 2OT loss on a neutral floor (UConn 5th seed). 4 pt OT road loss (Arky 6th seed). 1 pt road loss (Florida Bubble). A combined 11 points. All squeakers. 1 more made FG in each of those 3 games and we're sitting here undefeated. NO TEAM in college basketball can say that. Not even Gonzaga. If we play a little more smarter, all of our goals are still there. The SEC regular season championship and a #1 Seed in the Big Dance. SEC Tournament? I don't believe we're quite deep enough at the guard position to win 3 games in 3 days. It won't matter and that won't be a problem for March Madness. It's all about matchups. Can't wait.
  19. Did we even try a zone today? Except in the last minute, we didn't trap either. Granted, most teams have a plethora of guards, but we should be changing things up defensively. We're at full strength now and I didn't see any of that today. Kessler is getting some good on the job training guarding the likes of Castleton. A smart, quick big with a repertoire of pump fakes and post moves. Like a Drew Timme. Tough to guard. Jabari is in a league of his own. We need to recognize and attack those mismatches more often.
  20. Turnovers (I know) and bad possessions at the end of BOTH halves. Either we take too long to get going, or our opponents bring major heat above the 3 pt arc. It's a pattern now and needs to be addressed immediately. There HAS to be a set play or two. SOMETHING other than relying on the PG to do 99% of the work EVERY stinking time.
  21. He's a full preseason of practices, and 11 games behind everyone else. There's no shortcut. He has to play. A lot of the turnovers are him trying to become the ultimate assist guy. The opponents know this and go hard after him. He just needs to calm down, slow down. Make the simple play. I'd almost rather him get better with his driving and shooting. If he had a mid range game, wow.
  22. Coaxing and baiting defenders into fouling is an art form, ala Trae Young, James Harden, etc. Pippen Jr learned it growing up from one of the best.
