  1. The Internet is the worst (I know, Captain Obvious). This is the level of misinformation floating around out there. I just saw a story purportedly about Kes Harsin's response to the rumors of the alleged affair, and it consisted of a few pictures of Harsin's assistant and a screenshot of a faked social media post that was an unattributed, plagiarized quote about rumors by a Lebanese businessman and attributed ostensibly to Kes Harsin. 2. You guys really going to be pedantic and tear down a kid's metaphor when you know exactly what he means?
  3. Since when are head football coaches supposed to be Mary Poppins and coddle and cater to grown men? The meanest people I was ever around were my high school defensive line coach and my Army drill sergeant.
  4. Even though I will always think of Deion as the guy who interfered with Freddy Weygand in the red zone in the 1989 Sugar Bowl and cost us an undefeated season and possible natty, I like him. But he needs more time as a head coach to make the jump to Power 5 football and navigate the dumpster fire this program has become over the last seven months.
  5. I wanted Fickell when we hired Harsin and before Cincinnati made a run for the natty. But what I know about hiring head coaches for Power 5 programs is a lot less than what most around here think they know.
  6. This is devolving into a less than sophisticated display of playground hair-pulling.
  7. If you were disappointed that Harsin wasn't a home run hire, just wait to see what would be willing to step into this three-ring freak show.
  8. Unless it's a Penn State level scandal, his career will survive in some form.
  9. Nature abhors a vacuum, and that is what we have. Without solid information from reliable or official sources, the vacuum is being filled with the lurid imaginations and unfounded allegations of social media trolls All will come out in due course and when it does, we have to pick up the smoldering ashes, grab a hot glue gun and try to piece things back together.
  10. I am glad he said something to the point. There is a saying among media relations and crisis communications professionals: The media dog will eat. If you don't feed it, it will go through your trash. Point is that silence gets filled with the rumors, innuendo, and other crap oozing from the uninformed.
  11. This will take years to get the stink off and become championship-level competitive again. I am so over this junior high school drama that has permeated the program and the fan base.
  12. I love his intensity. Your description is apt.
  13. This roller coaster ride of blowing out a good team just to squeak past an also-ran in the next game is exhausting. But, hey, I am an Auburn fan. I should be used to it.
  14. 2.5 Deeply concerned. I am beginning to wonder if there is anyway to recover quickly from the Davis and Mason departures. Regardless of how we feel, the image portrayed to the college football world and more specifically, the college coaching world, is that Auburn is not stable and the turnover in coaching positions is a large red flag. I am not saying there are major issues to address, only that it is not a good look.
  15. Maybe mental toughness would be a better description of the attribute. KD has more control of his body than the lanky 7-1 Kessler. I just want him to own the paint on every play.
  16. I guess my point is If he ranked Auburn any higher and Gonzaga any lower, the Zags could fall to three or four and he has been on the Zags bus since day one.
  17. Had Wendell Green changing his hairstyle from something resembling a Russian fur hat to dreadlocks would produce a season high 23 points, he probably would have done it long ago.
  18. Newell had Gonzaga number one since the first preseason poll. Not sure which poll site you used for this, but wanted to provide this link to Poll Tracker for others. It is a handy tool and there is also a football version. https://collegepolltracker.com/
  19. I think he feels he has to justify his earlier voting by continuing down the road to jack assery. He is one of those Midwestern homers who will stick to his stubborn guns.
  20. Kessler... I would give him KD's intensity.
  21. This is purely a business move to keep Brown off of a competing roster. Bucs can suspend him, effectively ending his time with the team without having to put him on waivers and another playoff team picking him up and hurting the Bucs in the playoffs. Brown is a cancer and the Bucs don't want him. Period. But the difference between suspension and waiving him is a business decision and a strategic playoff decision. His suspension is not leaving the door cracked.
  22. It won't be until the Seahawks season is over. That is all I know.
