  1. Actually a change at qb might be the answer. Of course JS is an awesome qb that in the right system may win a Heisman. However, when we force run the ball 3/4 of every game, we should probably have a running qb to atleast freeze the D a little. Man just saying that makes me wanna face palm my own post. We need a new coach yesterday
  2. We've won our last 3 games (all conference games) 144-47. Get a grip
  3. I thought I was reading that he wasn't likely to be the main starting qb as a Sr. Should he start and look good then I may change my prediction
  4. Too early to predict he never plays meaningful snap as a qb at AU? I swear I've seen this story play out 20 times and it almost never works out. Seems like I've seen it as recently as last year...Oh yeah...JF3...everyone excused that he didn't start as qb in juco...now he can't even crack the top 4 at qb. There's usually a reason these guys don't start at qb. If an excuse is even attempted that the guy ahead of him is better at qb..well then that's a pretty clear indicator....usually anyways. Maybe he'll be the exception (unlikely)
  5. If he is that good, he is eligible to go pro after this year so...
  6. No possible way they name a starter before fall. White has a broken arm and won't be available for spring ball. Yes that sucks, but SW deserves his shot to retain his own position. If they name Stidham in the spring, if I'm SW I'm transferring immediately before I use another year of eligibility. If that happens, then we've screwed our entire program should Stidham get hurt. That would be a terrible plan.
  7. The only teams that have beaten bama the past few years were primarily teams great at passing the ball. AU is the only exception there in 2013...but even then they were beaten by the qb position (NM was one of the best decision makers in the zone read I've ever seen). So while "air raid" may not be good, being able to go pass heavy if needed could prove huge.
  8. This is truth ^^^^^ I wonder if the holding allowed is by design to protect qbs. Unfortunately, it's only a few teams qbs that actually get the extra protection
  9. He worked with Probst. So did Pruitt. That's part of his coaching tree. That is a fact. You claiming it's not part of his tree is the blatent lie. I also said none of that had to be bad meaning it doesn't have to have any bearing on who he is or what he took from those situations. You are finding the tiniest details to argue ad nauseam with and it's downright petty and disturbing. Nobody cares anymore what you think because you have destroyed your credibility by treating everyone like garbage. Maybe if you occasionally acted like a remotely decent person more people would engage in regular conversations with you. You are the one to blame for the fact that everyone on this board wants you to stop posting. Personally I think you just need a break to calm down and regain some semblance of composure. Right now you are out of control to the point that even if you make a good point somewhere, it is going to get lost in the constant vile you are spewing. It's at the point where if you don't either stop treating everyone like garbage or decide to take a break on your own, the mods are gonna force you to take one. Try being a decent person, quit cussing at everyone and make comments without attacking every possible detail you can come up with a reason to not agree with. "Calling" someone on something you don't agree with by treating them like garbage is petty and childish. You lose any and all credibility your disagreement may have ever had when you react that way. The reason everyone here now reacts to you with an attitude is staring back at you in the mirror. Change the way you treat people. That's the only way your opinion will ever matter.
  10. Lmao. I still wasn't wrong. Quit being an ass and sleep it off.
  11. I agree with this. There were certainly a ton of more experienced guys out there but not likely any that we could have hired due to Gus's seat being an inferno. The one thing most of us worry about is Gus micromanaging. Heck he claimed he was done calling plays before the LSU game this past season and that it was up to Rhett from there on out. By almost all accounts that only lasted a couple games and he either took it back or micromanaged it into the ground. If he does this to CL, they'll both be unemployed in December. I think CL simply bringing fresh ideas to a talented team and eliminating some of the absolute idiocy we witnessed this year could easily account for 3-4 more wins if the defense is solid again. So, while there is reason for concern, there is likely more reason for optimism.
  12. I never bitched. You are the one all over this thread bitching at everyone. Again you don't read very well. In my original post I said that I wasn't holding any of those things against him because none of them had to be bad. It was just one of the parts of his past/experience. Completely missed that point there didn't you? Seriously, step away from the computer. You're just pissing everyone off for no reason at this point.
  13. Twice is all I'm explaining it. You've already quoted me twice since this. Read before you react next time.
  14. It wasn't wrong, you just didn't understand.
  15. So you're just trying to nitpick everyone's post you can in this thread to see if you can have 20 arguments going at once then? "Tree" doesn't have to mean he worked WITH them, just within the same tree or for the same person. Probst and Pruitt = sleezeballs
  16. This is me saying my peace and then I'm done. I don't feel the warm and fuzzies about this hire. This is a guy that has a grand total of 4 years as a college coach. This is a guy that only spent 1 of those years at a remotely major university and it was out west. This is a guy that coincidentally came from HS just like Gus. This is a guy that studied under Gus before. This is a guy that has never had to recruit SEC caliber players. This is a guy that hired Kodi as a RB coach at his first major gig (who never played or coached RBs before). This is a guy that only has a very few years experience not running a HS spread offense. This guy is from a coaching tree of sleezeballs in HS. This is a guy that's never been more than an analyst in a conference with quality defense. This is a guy who a large part of his "success" in college is based around a qb he coached in HS (will never have 6 years with a qb again). This is a guy that similar to Gus was an unknown out of HS so defenses may not know his tendencies yet but could be the just like Gus...once SEC defenses find his weakness it's all over. That said, if he truly can develop qbs at Auburn and can just remotely call a decent game, with Stidham and White available, this team should win 10 games. I have listed all my concerns above, but I'm not going to hold any of those against him because none of them have to be bad things. So until he proves otherwise, War Eagle Chip. Welcome aboard.
  17. Horace also got an attitude with another player and came very close to a technical foul. Coming in off of a suspension, 3 minutes in pushing for technicals is not very wise.
  18. So you are implying he will be grossly misused on offense and if he is the best we have he will likely be 2cnd or 3rd string?
  19. That's a heck of a way to start out. First game he sees when he officially gets to campus and we win by almost 50. And yes, Wiley, we expect to win by 50 from now on
