  1. I wasn't implying you said anything. I was just stating that if he made it on campus then (15th) he wouldn't likely play that game. However, if he is on campus now he might get 2-5 minutes depending on how the game goes. The earlier he shows up the better. I'm not expecting him to be a game changing talent out of the gate, but I am seriously looking forward to having his height and presence inside. Could completely change our offense just having a player capable of posting up and getting rebounds. If he can just add 5-7 rebounds a game at this point that could be an 8-10 point swing, which for this young team would be HUGE.
  2. So in two days... Is he even on campus or does anyone know? I seriously doubt he shows up on campus and plays in a game the same day or a day later. That said, just getting him on campus the 15th would be great. Give him a little practice time before SEC play.
  3. Understatement iyam. This was a HORRIBLE team that bested us in every way. If this is just one bad game, then fine. If this is who we are, NIT is way out of reach. Very disturbed by the complete and total lack of any offensive game plan what so ever. We seriously must have the lowest assist ratio in the country. We literally have 4 guys stand in one spot and pray that the guy with ball can do something. I'd love to hear from sommeone that has seen practices. Do we practice actual plays in practice? I don't see how as this our game plan every single week. It seems tougher every week because other teams now see we don't run any actual offense and just play man to man defense and know we will miss more than we make. I know at 6-2 is early to throw in the towel, so I'm not yet, but our offense has less planning than a Lebo team, and that is very concerning. No excuse whatsoever for this amount of talent to have no clue what to do for an entire game on offense. Hell, the literal call out of the time out with time left for one shot was to get the ball to Purifoy and hope he can score on his own without a single pick, screen, misdirection, NOTHING. Just pass him the ball and hope. Unbelievably bad game plan.
  4. Good catch. It seems our shooters like deep threes anyways so I wouldn't be surprised to see them behind the nba line
  5. Thanks. I've begun looking forward to these so I can know what to expect without having to spend too much time researching on my own. Thanks for helping me be a lazy BBall fan! I really don't have the time anyways, but these sure do help. Hoping our guys come out refreshed and ready to play instead of rusty and lazy. These long breaks can produce funny results.
  6. Ok, let's look at Sabans division: the West. What good coach did he run off? Miles? Nope. He got run off for incompetence. He had a good overall record but much like Gus has lost so many people based on his ridiculous decisions, so did Les. Neither have anything to do with Saban. Other than Miles, who? aTm still has the same coach they entered the league with, Auburn fired a coach for losing a teams discipline and therefore losing the team on the field (zero to do with Saban), the Mississppi schools have actually been better than they used to be and Arky has been about the same, all 3 of which have had the same coaches for a while now. Surely not Richt, never played bama. Surely not Spurrier, never played bama. Urban? Who kno s his real reason, but I doubt he left just because he might have to play bama in the SEC championship game. So then, who else? I'm at a loss for a single coach that has been run off by Saban.
  7. Yes it's possible. Happens all the time. its legal for HS freshmen who have graduated early to enroll and play early.
  8. Heron is better than Purifoy. Add Wiley who may also be better than Purifoy or somewhere in the same neighborhood and it is very possible to make the NCAA THIS year. That is why I say Wiley MAY be the piece needed to get there this year. I'm not EXPECTING to get there, but do believe we the talent needed to do so.
  9. This guy could be the missing piece to get this team to NCAA tourney THIS year. Sure he'll need time to adjust to college ball, but our current big men are playing well enough to give him some low pressure minutes. I like where this is headed
  10. Thanks. Seeing as the football board is not anywhere I want to be anymore for a while, I'm glad BBall is atleast interesting. We have loads of potential. I just hope we gel before it's too late this year (not that it's anywhere close to too late or that we aren't showing signs of gelling). If we can just play somewhere between the 1st half of Purdue and the 2cnd half (maybe a little closer to the 1st), we can and should make some post season tourney. If we can manage to consistently play like that 1st half, NCAA tourney may be possible. Surely far better prospects than a few years ago! Let's get back on track with a big W tomorrow!
  11. I agree with most of your points. We are young and undersized (even though 3 years into recruiting we should not be undersized). This team has talent and when things are going well can play with most teams and will only get better The 1 thing I disagree with is the quote above. You pretty much described a team quitting. If you're looking around expecting someone else to take care of defending, then you've quit. I do feel they quit for a period of time, and in that short period of time we went from down 10-12 to down 25. If that's is not quitting and we are just capable of being whipped that badly, we are in trouble. I sure hope it was quitting, or somehow the entire team ran out of gas at the same exact moment (which I doubt). I also agree that we need a little more time to build chemistry and that was a factor in this game. If and when we build some better chemistry, I'd expect a different reaction than the quitting I saw in this game. That alone could make a huge difference. This team has potential, but at the moment that is all it is. We need to get back in the gym and fine tune it. Also, looks like we may get another big body coming in January. If he's ready to play on day 1, that could help a little.
  12. Does a laptop count as a streaming player?
  13. Probably gonna be hard to get vue on my 360 lol. Haven't played video games in years so likely won't be upgrading the 360 any time soon. I'll look into slingTv though. Thanks
  14. Slingtv. Awesome. Thanks! Will look into it!
  15. Can you pm me where you get your sports and if it's an annual deal or just by the month? I use the KODI app (unreal for movies and tv shows, but not always great on live sports). I am looking for a service for next football season but don't want a whole years worth. ?
  16. Funny deal here. Announcers continually calling TT "The oldest power 5 team in college basketball" ....so there's that
  17. Ok, so really 7-9 pitchers and 5-7 position players depending where they end up. Is that normal? Still seems high but as so said I'm ignorant on the subject. Do we need that many pitchers or did we just get the best players we could regardless of position?
  18. Just read an article stating we signed 12 players, 9 of which are pitchers. Forgive my ignorance as I'm not a big baseball recruiting follower....is 9 pitchers out of 12 players a little extreme? I know it's common for the best athletes in HS to play pitcher, but isn't this odd? Am I just missing something?
  19. Ahhh. Take 5 years instead of 8 and that's a huge difference! Thanks for clarifying. I was sure something was off there
  20. Great write up. I agree on all fronts. However...One thing caught me off guard. "He spent a total of 8 years at Miami, where his quarterbacks threw for almost 15,000 yards. In other words, he’s about throwing the ball." Assuming zero post season and 11 game seasons (88 games)...that's only 170 yds/game. Every game over 11 per year they played takes that number even lower. For reference, this year 170 yds/game would rank 111th in the country. Have I had a stroke and don't realize it? These numbers suggest the exact opposite of being "about throwing the ball". Am I missing something? (quite possible )
  21. Huh. I thought the first half of MSU and the entire Arky game were pretty identical..
  22. Also undefeated coming off a bye week. I think it's time to start scheduling a bye week before bama again
  23. so 100 percent completion rate and 17 ypa on 3rd down? Dayum
  24. My bama fan family knew he was running up the middle. Screw Gus.
