I’ll push back a little on the DBs in the bowl game. Auburn was missing a couple starters and I think I read that Auburn didn’t utilize its full practice time which probably would have helped with that. The defense was actually pretty stout after the first quarter and in my opinion played well enough to win the game if the offense could have gotten anything going.

When was the last time Auburn had an offensive line? Tank was averaging his first contact 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Hunter would have hit it this year if he didn’t miss the first couple games.

Maybe not Dell but I’m pretty sure I just read one of the beat writers say the new OC will coach RBs. I’ll have to find where I saw that and post it. This off-season is as or more draining as what we just went through with Harsin. I was really hoping it would be smooth sailing with Freeze’s experience. Hopefully this is all for the best of the program.

The local news just posted James Franklin and ND’s coach. Would love either one of those to end up in Tuscaloosa. Franklin has plateaued at Penn State. He’s going to start feeling heat if they can’t compete with Ohio State and Michigan.

Weird that he announced it today. Wonder if he’ll do a farewell season or just be done?

I’m glad he’s calling plays next year. No more excuses! I get the roster wasn’t what it needs to be but it wasn’t as bad as the product on the field was at times. Scheme and effort were severely lacking several times as well which I put on the head coach. I won’t fault Freeze too much on player evals year one because he and the staff didn’t have a lot of time to get guys in. It was a small sample size against 2nd and 3rd teamers but watching Hank play in the bowl after what we’ve seen from Thorne all season was like seeing Sean come in after JJ and wondering how the coaches didn’t see Sean was the better QB in practice? I’m sure Hank will get plenty of opportunities in the spring and fall to prove himself. Maybe he isn’t much better against the 1s and 2s?

Florida should be bigger than Auburn but outside the Spurrier years they haven’t been. I would say Urban too but Urban Meyer never beat Auburn. Also I think Florida and Florida State were both pretty bad until the 80s.
